About the host
Hosted by Jane Fowler
We’re really proud of Swallet Farm and we feel honoured to be the next custodians of this special place. But it’s not been without its challenges!
Jane’s dream of owning healing retreat in the trees started to became reality when she moved to Swallet in 2016. It was in a very sorry state, as you can see from the pictures in history. Dan followed in 2018 and together we put blood, sweat, tears and a ton of love into getting the Farm back to looking as sparkly as it does today, and we’re delighted you’ll now be able to sample it’s delights.
Swallet farm in now our home and our business too. We are not a working farm anymore but we are always surrounded by very friendly cows or sheep.
We live on site with our Siamese cat “Squid”, our Rhodesian ridgeback ‘”moose”, our sausage dog ” Ottie aka food hoover” , Mini Yorkshire terrier "Bean" 8 chicken, and 3 pet pigs “Olive’ , “Peaches” & "Winnie"
You won’t see us unless we are feeding the livestock or you need our help.
We hope you love it as much as we do and it’ll be everything you need for a lovely break away from it all, here in the heart of the Mendips.

Why they chose this property
This is one of England’s most special places – the limestone Mendip Hills with the lakes of the Chew Valley is a stunning landscape of steep slopes and undulating plateau punctuated by spectacular gorges and rocky outcrops. On the hilltops there are hundreds of ancient monuments, whilst on steeper slopes flower rich grasslands and wooded combes offer varied habitats for a wide variety of wildlife.
In recognition of its special qualities the area has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). One of 46 AONBs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland these nationally protected landscapes managed through local Partnerships on behalf of the nation.
