A Large Furnished Canvas Tent With A Wood Floor And Tin Roof
The cabin tents are located in the woods on the side boundary of our 64 acre farm. Each tent is 12x20 canvas, like those used for big game hunts. The tents sit on wood platforms and are covered by a tin roof. Fully furnished; each tent has a Cabela's camp kitchen, a table and chairs, a set of bunk cots, a full size air mattress, a curtained corner "bathroom" with a compost toilet and even a wood stove for winter. The front porch has camp chairs for enjoying the season. Out back, there's a heated shower shack with hot water, a frost free water faucet, a fire ring and picnic table.

About Bill & Mary McGinn
We are Bill & Mary McGinn. We're retirees who have taken up farming for a living. Our property belonged to Bill's great-great grandfather, just after the Civil War. Its a rare privilege to have the farm back in the family and to call it home. We grow heirloom fruits and veggies, grind gluten free grains and make useful wooden items - to sell (in season) at our Farm Stand. Plus Mary cans, dehydrates and cures about anything that will stand still long enough! Our livestock are heritage breeds that we allow to live as naturally as possible. Currently, we have beef cows, chickens, dairy goats and draft horses. The horses pull our Amish wagon, as well as plows and such. We obviously love old things - including each other:)
Bill & Mary McGinn purchased this Campground in 2012
Why Bill & Mary McGinn chose Westminster
Besides the family history of owning the farm, we were looking for property in a location that would be safe for our family, if things in this country go badly. This area provides that and, in addition, we have lots of cousins nearby.
What makes this Campground unique
Lots of folks are interested in farming, prepping, canning, solar, etc. these days. We're open to sharing what we have learned and teaching others who are interested. Plus we just offer a peaceful place that appeals to people who live in the usual rat race of life. Thus Far Farm is in a different time warp than most of the country. We've now added cabin tents, RV sites and tiny houses, so even groups can come for retreats.

Easy camping...Everything is already there!
The site was great. It was so nice to just go in and not have to set everything up. Bill and Mary were super nice. We loved their dogs. Ponder was so friendly....hung out with us in the evenings. Bill gave us great tips for hiking in the area. Yellow Branch Falls was his suggestion and it was beautiful. We would love to go back with family since the other tent site was directly across from us.
Clean, cozy and comfortable! We really enjoyed our time here.
Clean, cozy and comfortable. Well thought out and very sweet hosts!
Great place for a getaway!
Bill and Mary are great hosts and this is a very affordable yet comfortable way to camp. We loved our stay and will look to come back.
Loved “glamping” here!
We arrived late Friday and Bill & Mary along with Ponder (the dog) greeted us and showed us to the perfectly equipped tent. The area is beautiful and very close to lots of hiking trails and waterfalls. Even with chilly wet weather we had a fantastic time. Thank goodness for the wood burner!! 😊 We hope to return again.
Off the Beaten Path
I decided to try something new when I booked this tent. I love camping, Clemson football and cooler temperatures at night... so this tent was perfect! This tent included just about all of the camping equipment you could hope to have without the hassle of having to pack it all up. I enjoyed the hot shower and the secluded feel with a short (30 minute) commute to Clemson. This place would be great for any individual or family wanting to camp but not wanting to worry about purchasing equipment or packing up a car.
We were impressed with how gutsy Ansley was, to arrive alone, at night, at a campsite in a new area, out in the woods, with no other guests nearby. Way to go girl! Thanks so much for coming to the farm.
