Great little cottage with everything you need close to pubs and shops 10 min walk down the High Street to the harbour area Several great walks to tire out the dog and get and work up an appetite to then go sample the local pub grub and beers and the majority of places dog friendly 😀

Melrose cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything you would need and a few extras like wine and flowers on arrival. Amble was a good base to explore different areas in Northumberland. It is a nice wee town with good cafes and restaurants. It also has a bustling harbour and a very busy market on a Sunday. The weather was unseasonably cold but didn’t stop us going out and about.

Melrose cottage is well placed for the main street in Amble and other areas were within driving distance. Amble is a lovely village with plenty of restaurants and food outlets. The cottage is nice and cosy and it is clean and well presented. My only comment would be that new pillows are needed as they were flat and I had to use four. The mattresses in the second bedroom on the single beds were uncomfortable and are probably ready to be renewed. Overall we had a lovely holiday in a nice well equipped cottage.

Excellent base to discover the area nice touch with drinks on arrival, however we felt that the cleanliness let it down .there was a smell of mould and damp in the house, thanks for the candles also but they could not hide the odour.on closer inspection we found that there were areas of damp in front bedroom and front entrances. Also the back garden too small & overlooked, not ideal for our dog or next door as they had small children present
