We stayed 7 nights in October. The house was in the perfect location to walk all over Bar Harbor, especially the land bridge to Bar Island which our kids loved. Nice parking spot. The house had everything we needed. Margaret was an excellent host, even mailing us a phone after we checked out that we had lost deep in the cushions of the couch. They have some fun games for kids in the dining room and the laundry machines worked perfectly. Comfortable beds with down comforters. There isn't any view, just a parking lot and a cute bed and breakfast, but we came here for the majestic views off the mountains. The grocery store is conveniently across the street and just a short 2 minute walk to Jordan's restaurant. We will definitely try to stay here again.
This house is in a great location -- close to Hannaford for your groceries, close to Bar Island, close to the harbor, close to downtown restaurants and shops -- but still manages to feel fairly quiet and separated from the noise, hustle and bustle of the tourist locations. Margaret had the place spic and span when we arrived and provided all the requisite brochures, guides and maps to help plan out our activities. The kitchen and grill were great. Highly recommended.
We had a very fun stay at this home in Downtown Bar Harbor. The beds were super comfortable and the four of us spent many hours sitting on the front porch watching the world go by. Close to everything, it was great to walk to the movies, dinner or the shops. The only thing we missed was a teakettle, but we made do. Thanks, Margaret!
We enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable place with plenty of room. We liked the location, especially the short walk down Bridge Street for the walk out to Bar Island at low tide.
Margaret's home is a well-kept and well-stocked 3 BR, 1.5 bath, LR, DR, K with laundry room (yay!), front porch and back patio. It looks exactly like the pictures and the location is really ideal - across the street from the main grocery store, 2 blocks from a terrific natural foods store, a few blocks from a couple of great cafes and pizza place, less than 10 minutes to the Bar Island 'walk across the water at low tide', downtown, Agamont Park and Village Green. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend two high-end restaurants: Havana and This Way Cafe - city quality food and nice service. Bar Harbor and Acadia is a great vacation; we loved it as did our daughter, son-in-law and infant grandson.
Had great time. Home very comfortable.
Minutes away from Acadia National Park beaches, hiking, biking, golfing, mountain climbing or just sightseeing.
