Beautiful home with sole occupancy and a large pool for up to 10 guests. Perfect for relaxing but still near all the Dordogne attractions, historical sites, brocantes and there are a few in the Dordogne! A stunning detached house/barn conversion set in 3 acres of garden which surround the property, providing 360 stunning views over the French countryside. Not far from several vineyards which can make it the perfect place for friends looking to experience wine making in the region. The grounds are mainly laid to lawn with mature trees and shrubs dotted around making it a picturesque scene. If you are into stargazing, you are in for a treat, as Clair de Lune offers the perfect spot for stargazing and admiring the milky way. The property itself is set over two levels with spacious living areas (lounge 60m2) and 5 bedrooms. the large private pool gets the sun all day and is surrounded by several sun terraces, loungers, and parasol. A large gazebo is located by the pool with a sitting area, to read under a shaded area or enjoy a quick snack before jumping back in the pool! Clair de Lune has a built BBQ close by the large outdoor dining table, perfect for alfresco dining. There are three large patio windows with awnings. To the side of the house, is a long covered terrace with a table tennis area for the enjoyment of all guests. UK Freeview TV, DVD player with lots of DVDs, CD player. Wi-Fi provided via Starlink. High ceiling open-plan living-dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Large mezzanine overlooking the living area with small office set up, books, football table. 5 bedrooms with fans and hair dryers. 3 bathrooms of which two are en-suite. 3 Toilets, including one separate.

Une maison de vacances idéale pour se retrouver en famille ou entre amis, située sur un domaine prive pour se détendre tout en étant proche de toutes les attractions et sites historiques de la Dordogne. A seulement 29km de Bergerac. Une superbe maison/grange convertie, pleine de charme sur 3 acres de terrain privé entourant la propriété avec une vue imprenable sur la campagne et vignobles à proximité. Le terrain est principalement aménagé en pelouse pour jouer en toute sécurité, avec des arbres et des arbustes matures, parsemés tout autour donnant au tout une ambiance pittoresque. Magnifique vue sur 360 degrés sur un paysage vallonné et vue sur le joli hameau de Rampieux. Un grand ciel la nuit pour observer les étoiles. Situé sur 2 niveaux avec des espaces de vie spacieux et des chambres de bonne taille. Une chambre avec une petite terrasse privée. Grande piscine privée avec terrasse ensoleillée toute la journée, chaises longues et parasols. Grand belvédère avec une grande table extérieure et chaises pour les repas en plein air et barbecue en pierre. À 3 des grandes fenêtres donnant sur les terrasses, il y a des auvents. Une terrasse couverte longe la cuisine ou se trouve une table de ping-pong pour le plaisir des grands comme des petits. TV Freeview, lecteur DVD avec beaucoup de DVD, lecteur CD. Wifi. Salon-salle avec beaucoup de volume plafond haut et cuisine bien équipée. Grande mezzanine surplombant le salon avec petit bureau aménagé, livres, baby-foot et table multi-jeux vidéo. 5 chambres avec ventilateurs et sèche-cheveux. 3 salles de bains, 2 salles de bains attenante aux chambres du bas, 3 toilettes dont 1 a part.

Beautiful & Quiet Location

Comfortable stay in a lovely property located in a quiet location. Lovely refreshing pool with a great view across the landscape. Good size for a small or large family with plenty of comfortable accommodation. Enjoyed our stay.

Stunning location and beautiful home

Everything we needed, communication was top notch from the second we booked. The property is in a lovely rural location but a short 5 min drive to a supermarket. The pool is large and clean, the table tennis went down very well with the kids, and the house is stocked with all you could need for a long stay. Thank you!

Such a wonderful house

This was our second stay at Le Planel and this time it was for a full 2 weeks with both of our parents. The house was just as we remembered it and had been even further improved with the addition of some lovely skylight windows. Our parents kept saying how lovely the decor was! Chris and Christine were fantastic as always and only too happy to answer any questions or requests we had. The area is beautiful and this is in a great location for exploring. At risk of sounding like the terminator - we will be back

a wonderful, relaxing holiday

A wonderful house in a beautiful and peaceful location which gives you everything you need to relax and enjoy the sun. We loved the outside area with its lovely views, pool and gazebo for eating outside in welcome shade. There's so much to do at the house, table tennis, table football and games but we perhaps didn't take full advantage of this as we all got distracted by the Olympics! So pleased to have the BBC coverage, a real bonus. We enjoyed the Monday night food market in Beaumont with all the locals and visitors coming together to enjoy the local produce and music. The Sunday market in Issigeac was busy but worth a visit if you want to avoid the supermarket sometimes. Canoeing was very easy to arrange in Limeuil. We've holidayed in the Dordogne a few times before and this is our favourite location so far.

Absolutely fantastic

We enjoyed 14 wonderful days at the house together with our three children and my wife's parents. The property is fantastic. Very high standard, beautiful and cozy. The pool area is huge and nice. The indoor is not only the "right" French style as you would hope for a countryside residence in France, it is also very well equipped. The gaming section is out of league if you are travelling with children. The area is beautiful and with a lot of great tours to do in the area - a lot of beautiful small villages, markets, canoe and swimming in the rivers, cave-vist etc. The owner is very nice and very helpful. You can find a lot of great holiday houses but with the Le Planel you can actually feel that the owners of the house love it as well. We would for sure love to come back some time.

The Perfect Escape

We had the pleasure of staying at La Planel recently and we both agreed that it is the nicest and most well appointed villa we have ever stayed in. The owners, Chris and Christine have thought of everything to make guests feel at home and the whole villa has a lovely warm, inviting ambiance The decor is personal and lovely (we have stolen some of your ideas for our house) and the place is clean and comfortable. The pool is lovely, second only to the amazing views which had us in a conundrum of choosing whether to read our books or gaze across the scenery. You really felt like you were all on your own in peace and tranquility. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners Chris & Christine on our arrival and they we're lovely, helpful and left no doubt that this villa is very much a part of them. I'm sure nothing would be too much trouble. Monpazier and Beaumont are about 10 mins drive away and we found ourselves in the former almost daily wondering around and buying baguettes. There is a nice supermarket nearby (still a drive) which holds most of the essentials (wine). Thanks again to Chris and Christine for their awesome villa and we will be returning in the near future. Relaxing and comfortable

Great place to get away from it all and relax in a quite and spacious location with all the amenities you’ll need, for a great holiday. We had our dog with us who enjoyed the space, nearby woodland area and walk into fields at the back. Host was spot on with communication and no issues at all.

Tranquillité absolue

Nous cherchions une grande maison avec piscine au calme, nous avons été comblés. La propriété est magnifique avec des prestations de qualité. Chevreuils et lièvres pour voisins! Farniente, piscine, ping pong, baby-foot, barbecue, une super semaine passée en famille. Les petits villages bastide aux alentours sont à visiter et les commerces sont à 5min. Recommande à 100%

Location à conseiller, calme et bien équipée

La maison est spacieuse, bien équipée et calme (située au milieu des champs). Les magasins de bouche sont à moins de 5km et facilement accessibles en voiture. La région présente de nombreux points d'intérêts aussi bien pour les mordus du sports que pour les amoureux de la culture. Les propriétaires Anglais sont facilement joignables par mail et répondent très vite à nos demandes en français ou en anglais. En clair location à conseiller pour un séjour au calme

Prachtige ligging.

Séjour très sympa

Merci Christine et Christ pour le séjour. Nous qui aimons les grands espaces, c'était super. La maison, le jardin, la piscine...tout est immense ! Endroit très calme, on entend que les oiseaux et les grillons. Maison bien aménagée avec tous ce qu'il faut (cuisine, linge de maison, électroménagers...). De nombreuses visites à faire aux alentours, mais il faut impérativement une voiture. Commerces proches (6kms). La météo n'était pas top, mais nous avons malgré tout bien profité ! Merci aussi à Monique, son conjoint et Niels pour la propreté des lieux et leur gentillesse.

spaceous, calm and a magnificent view

We can recommend this rental to travelers seeking calm and space. The average number of cars passing on the road (half a mile away) must 2 ... per day! The pool was delicious, the kids had loads of fun with all the games. To be noted: tall people (am 189cm myself) better choose a room on the ground floor so as to avoid bumping their heads.

Perfect family getaway

The house ,gardens,pool and location are fabulous. We stayed here for two weeks with our children and grandchildren arriving the second week. The pool was well used by our 9 year old and 9 month old grandaughters who took some persuasion to get out so we could visit the surrounding beautiful villages. The house is remote enough for complete quiet and relaxation but only 5 minutes by car to the nearest intermarche and village. It was everything we expected and more and is equipped to a very high standard. Even though no air con in the property each bedroom had fans that kept the rooms nice and cool when the heatwave hit and the games room was well used by all of us especially the arcade game machine. The night skies are amazing and we all enjoyed seeing the shooting stars which seemed to appear most nights. The beds were very comfortable our grandaughter making sure ofthis bysleeping in both single beds in her room. We would highly recommend Le Planel to anyone looking for that special getaway suitable for families or couples. Check in was easy Christine making sure we had all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. We have a family rule once we have visited somewhere we don't go back , however for Le Planel we would happliy break this rule and return.

Fantastic house - we will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Le Planel. We knew we would have a great time as on arrival, after many hours in the hot car, our youngest (who was already prepared in his swimming costume) threw himself out of the car and launched himself into the swimming pool with screams of delight (and the squeal of the pool alarm!!). He hardly left the poolside all week. Christine was so helpful with all my many questions before the holiday and contacted us again when we arrived to check that everything was okay. The house was spacious and brilliantly equipped with a Tassimo coffee machine, pots and pans galore and plenty of crockery and cutlery. The location was stunning - at the top of a hill so you benefitted from a welcome breeze. We were far away enough from the neighbours to not have to worry about making too much noise! The gazebo was very welcome and I am not sure that we would have been able to eat outside so much without it because of the heat of the sun. Having wifi, DVDs and many books on hand was certainly welcomed by our 13 and 15 year olds, they also enjoyed the table tennis, video game machine and table football. The swimming pool was beautifully clean and maintained, we did have to top it up after advice from the helpful pool man up as it was an exceptionally hot week and the level had dropped slightly. We are already planning our next visit as I know that it was a holiday our family will remember.

Perfection

A beautiful relaxing haven

Two friends and I spent an incredibly relaxing three days here, in this beautiful house in a stunning rural setting. The house was clean and the facilities were great - including WiFi - and it is located 5 minutes from a big supermarket and about 10 minutes from a lovely little town that had a great pizza restaurant (and lots of other restaurants). Thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants to completely unwind and forget about the worries of everyday life!

Idyllic holiday accomodation

I had read all the reviews of Le Planel prior to booking and I definitely agree with all that has been written before, it is a truly beautiful place to stay. The views,tranquility,and excellent accommodation that has been so well thought out,make it a really is gorgeous place to stay. The surrounding area is packed with amazing Bastide towns,(nearby Monpazier is beautiful)they are completely unspoilt....joyfully no Starbucks and Costa to be seen😀 Recommend canoeing great fun and fabulous views along the Dordogne. Perfect tranquillity

Our first visit to the Dordogne and every bit as we had imagined; long hot days, lovely spacious house in a perfectly secluded location with wonderful views of the area. The children spent many hours in the pool which is a good size and not too deep to touch the bottom. Table tennis and the space invaders game machine also got good use, as did the wifi! All our needs were met with more than enough towels and plentiful kitchen implements, Christine was extremely helpful with recommendations for outings and places to visit. Thank you, we'll be back!

Another wonderful holiday

This was our second holiday at Le Planel and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. The addition of the gazebo gave welcome shade for al fresco dining. The weather was exceptionally hot, but we still spent a comfortable week thanks to the lovely swimming pool and the stone fabric of the house. As other reviewers have said; the house is very well appointed with lots of thought given to the comfort and care of holidaymakers. Christine and Chris are very helpful and responsive and nothing is too much trouble. I was very sad to leave and am already looking forward to our next holiday there.
