About this property

Pass the Keys | 3 bedroom home within walking distance of town

About this space
Enjoy easy access to everything from this perfectly located home base. Benyon Street is in a quiet residential area, located within a 10-minute walk from our historic vibrant town with its Tudor buildings, quaint back streets, independent shops, and an abundance of restaurants, bars, & cafes to suit all tastes. Just a 5-minute walk from both train and bus station and benefits from free on-street parking. It is perfect for a family break, couples, or individuals visiting on business or pleasure.

The space
The main hub of the property is the large, airy, kitchen dining area which leads out onto the patio area, which is enclosed for your furry friends. We have a cosy, compact living area with gas fire and TV. The stairs to both the second and third floors are steep and narrow. On the second floor is a double bedroom with ample wardrobe space and a single bedroom. Stairs then lead to the third story, which is a double bedroom again, with wardrobe space and views out over the rooftops.

Outside we have a patio area, which catches the early morning sun.

At the end of the patio do have dog kennels. If you would like to bring your dogs. If your dogs prefer the warmth of the inside, then we do ask for well-behaved dogs to be downstairs only and do make a small charge for them.

Guest access
We are only a 5 to 10-minute walk from the train station and town center. We have plenty of free parking outside the house.

Other things to note
Travel cot and high chair available on request.
Our property is professionally cleaned and is set up to be remote access, ensuring there is no direct contact with anyone needed. The linen and towels are removed from the property after each stay and replaced with freshly laundered supplies. We also provide single-use and individual items such as shampoo and shower gel.

Supermarkets
We have a Tesco, Aldi, and Lidle about 10 minutes in the car and a Morrisons about 5 minutes drive. In the opposite direction, again a 10-minute drive is Sainsbury's and a large M&S Food Hall. Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Tesco will all do home delivery. A 1 minute walk from the house is a Morrisons daily which is open till 10pm and a 5 minute walk into the town centre is a smaller Tesco and M&S foofhall.

Local Restaurants
There are so many but here are some I like. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant which are located in town or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. Momo's Noodle Bar is nice. The Olive tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury are always firm favorites, along with Cote and Bistro Jacques. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema

Local Attractions
A 10-minute drive from the house will take you into the historic town of Shrewsbury. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing if you like historic buildings. If you follow the river, you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features is worth a wander around. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series.

Great time in Shrewsbury
We loved our stay. The place was clean and well stocked and had ample space for our party of four. It was a very short walk from the center of town and it’s proximity to the river tow path meant it was a great place to run. Shrewsbury is charming and full of activities and this was the perfect place to stay!

Comfortable & homely
The house is well set up and has great access to the river paths for general walking and into the town. Kitchen well-equipped and spacious. Stairs are a little steep but otherwise a great house to stay and take in Shrewsbury.

Well placed for exploring Shrewsbury
The property was well placed for exploring Shrewsbury with a walk into town of about 10 minutes and you are right beside the cycling/walking route along the river. The property had all that we needed and was beautifully clean. There is a large fridge freezer in the kitchen, a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was great. Towels are sufficient but a bit on the small side. The stairs up to the bedroom would be steep for older people and those to the second floor steeper still. I am in my late 70s and struggled. Watch you don't bump your head as you go up! The bedrooms had plenty of storage for clothes. We found parking a real problem as all the adjoining roads were parked bumper to bumper. We managed to squeeze into a gap with 5 minutes of maneuvering as our car is small. There is a paved back garden with outdoor seating. Neighbour with adjoining garden very friendly and helpful - she is a Shrewsbury ambassador. We had a dog with us and there are places nearby to take them for a walk/free run - just over the bridge near to the property and if you walk past the weir in the opposite direction to the town there is a piece of land beside the river. Both also have play areas for children. We would book to stay there again.
