About this property

Linda Vista Library EZ Parking Super Central San Diego Full Kitchen

Apartment consists of a medium sized full kitchen, large living room with built-in library, and medium sized master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Apartment is quiet and very private. Parking is easy in front of the apartment. Neighborhood is perched on the edge of Tecolote Canyon; the ocean breeze crosses mission bay, enters the canyon, and filters through this neighborhood- as a result, when the rest of the city is sweltering, we are usually quite comfy.
The apartment has a fairly retro vibe; if you want modern, this isn't it. Lots of wood surfaces. Lots of closets and chests of drawers. Big closet. Lots of bathroom storage. Shower only. Built-in library. If you would like to take a book, please ask first.....Full kitchen. Full sized fridge, coffee maker, rice cooker, gas stove. Dishes must be hand washed. Nice outdoor spaces in backyard.
Apartment is higher than street level- you have to climb 8 stairs or so to arrive at front door. Apartment is very centrally located- we are 6 miles from Balboa Park, 4 miles from Old Town, 8.5 miles from Lindbergh Field (SAN), 8 miles to Ocean and Mission Beaches, 7 miles to Little Italy, and 12 miles to La Jolla.
The neighborhood is very quiet; unlike many areas of San Diego, we have no jet 'fly over'. Nor are we close to freeways, trolleys or trains; in other words, you can sleep peacefully here. While the neighborhood has changed a lot, it is still not a densely populated area. The neighborhood was developed during WWII, before SD was crowded; as a result, we are not living 'nose to nose' like the rest of the city.
One drawback to the neighborhood is that there is not a lot to walk to- if you want to walk to nightlife, bars, restaurants, cafes and the like, you will be disappointed. However, if you don't mind short drives, you can enjoy the city and come back to a very quiet and restful place to sleep, uninterrupted by planes, trains, cars, trolleys and buses.

Nice place in a great location
Scott was a great host, very responsive and considerate. The place was spacious enough for 2 people and it had all the things we needed. Also great location, you can quickly drive anywhere in San Diego in just a few minutes.

I am a small business owner and have lived in SD since 1990. Studied at UH manoa in Honolulu, UCSD. Like to surf, ride bicycles.

Why they chose this property

I liked the space. there is plenty of space between you and the neighbors, i liked the ocean view, and the neighborhood is quiet and nice. We are also very close to all SD attractions- close to balboa park, airport (Lindbergh field or SAN), little Italy, downtown, mission bay, mission beach, pacific beach, la jolla, north park. Even with summer traffic, it's usually pretty easy to get home.

What makes this property unique

We are very lucky in that our neighborhood has 'natural air-conditioning'; the breeze comes off the ocean, crosses mission bay, funnels into Tecolote Canyon, and filters through our neighborhood. When most of the rest of the city is sweltering, we usually are nice and cool.
Another benefit of this neighborhood is that we are not in any flight path- we do not have passenger jets or military jets flying over our neighborhood.
