Wonderful break

Once again we have had a fantastic stay. From the tea and biscuits on arrival to the beautiful warm pool that we were able to book just for our family. The peaceful surroundings but close to the city made it the best cottage we have ever booked. Can't wait for our next visit .

Excellent location and good for dog walking.

This was our second time of staying at the lodge, which was 4 years ago. the lodge was ideal for what we wanted to do, however the building is starting to look tired and could do with a spruse up.

Magical stay

We had a brilliant 5 night stay at the Lodge over an unexpected May heatwave! Sheelah, Jack and Kim were incredibly helpful and friendly, with tips for a day out in Norwich and providing everything we needed for our stay. We drove each day to the swimming pool - the highlight of our trip - and loved having private access during our booked slots. The Lodge is fully equipped with everything we needed and was a lovely base for us to stay. We'd love to come back again.

Lovely, relaxing holiday

Lovely, relaxing place to stay. Views of the garden and woodland are great. Had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Easy access to the Broads, coast. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely little hideaway

Our family had a wonderful short stay at The Lodge. The cottage is a real Tardis and is very well equipped with everything you need. The owner Sheela was lovely and really helpful and we had a really nice time exploring the grounds. The pool is hidden away but well worth seeking out (you can park right next to it). Will definitely be back.

A perfect place to stay!

Perfect for our family holiday - a great location close to Norwich which has something for everyone, a cosy cottage in a peaceful setting in the grounds of the Spixworth Hall estate and a short walk through the wood to all the facilities on offer - the two Games Rooms, the children's play area and.just a little further on to the swimming pool and tennis court! Only one downside - we did not stay long enough!!

Beautiful and Peaceful Spot

Our stay at the Lodge was absolutely fantastic. The house is equipped with an incredibly spacious and beautiful private yard that is immaculately maintained. The owners were incredibly hospitable and welcoming throughout our stay and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and absolutely plan to come back soon!

Loved our stay

The one thing that let the lodge down was it’s poor shower but that has been dealt with in the form of a brand new shower . Although still small it’s nice and clean and new . We love staying at the lodge as we have done for years . And will continue to so .

Cosy, warm and comfortable

This was my 2nd stay at this property and it is very comfortable with everything you need for a short break. The cottage is cosy and warm and in a good location to get out and about. The hosts are helpful, but leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet (although it is next to a main road, so expect some traffic noise at peak times).

Our 8th stay!

Love visiting the lodge. It's our home from home now . Owners are welcoming, the Lodge is always clean and well kept despite being 150 years old. Love the walks in the woods and the deer that even come into the garden. A peaceful place to stay but very close to the city too. We will be back soon for our 9th visit

A great stay In Norfolk

This place suited us down to the ground: the location is near our friends in Norwich, the cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, surrounded by footpaths for dog walks, and the swimming pool was a treat (the booking system meant that it was really private and peaceful). Shelagh was very welcoming and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

Another enjoyable week at the Lodge

Beautiful surroundings, well kept period property with unexpected extras like a dishwasher, laundry room and efficient heating. Very clean and well kept. Love walking in the woods and waking up to a deer on the garden.

Nice tranquil place

There is nothing I can say bad about this place. A beautiful location. peaceful and well presented. The house has everything that you need for self catering. The location is peaceful, waking up to the sound of birds instead of the noise of the city. This place is highly recommended, I would go back again.

14th visit and I've another one booked!

Having stayed here 14 times I can honestly say it gets better and better. Each visit something new has been upgraded or added . This time it was the heating in the outdoor pool. Great temperature, clean pool and so lovely to be able to book an hour for just our family. The owners go the extra mile to make our stay perfect. Can't wait for our next visit
