Come share our beautiful condo at Arena Blanca in Playa del Carmen!
Arena Blanca is located within walking distance of everything you need & we think it's the most beautiful condo complex in Playa. The locals call it 'the beautiful building. The classic Spanish architecture, brick-lined rotunda ceilings, tile floors, marble counters & shower speak 'quality'. This condo was just updated with new furniture and it is beautiful.
Forget the rental car while you're in Playa!! We're located on Calle 38 Norte between 5th & 10th at the newer - quieter end of Playa. It's just a few minutes walk to great beaches, shopping & dining on 5th Ave., many modern grocery stores & several smaller markets. There are so many restaurants within walking distance you can't go wrong. We’ll give you recommendations, if you like!
We chose second-floor condos for the view & a little privacy! Built in 2006 it's an 11-unit gated, secure complex. We offer a newly remodeled condo with king-size bed, two bathrooms with shared shower and a very comfortable queen size convertible sofa, It is an ideal design and location. Best part is not having a lot of people around! It's a great place!
The private pool has an island palapas for shade. There's access to a roof-top terrace to sunbath, look at the stunning views of Cozumel, have a cocktail or watch the sun rise & set over Playa del Carmen & the Caribbean.
It's a well-maintained complex with full-time maintenance and gardening.
Our prices INCLUDE all fees (no booking/service fees!), bottled water, washer/dryer and wireless internet (including internet booster inside condo for great wireless internet service).
The property manager speaks fluent English, Spanish and Italian and is available to meet any of your needs (tours, rental cars, spa treatments (including in condo treatments), catering, medical issues, airport transfers) or questions. Our guests all comment on the friendliness and helpfulness of our management.
Exercise options - besides running on the beach & walking 5th Ave! It's a 5-minute walk to the outdoor city sports center that features a track for running, stairs for climbing and basketball hoops for a quick game of B-ball. You can even take in a soccer game at night.

Playa is a very unique vacation destination. We found the international mix of visitors created an up-scale happening place! And the beach is BEAUTIFUL!
What we like most about Playa & our condo at Arena Blanca is that we don't need a car while we're there! We can walk to most everyhing, take a cab or the local bus when necessary!
We really enjoyed our stay at Arena Blanca. It was our first visit to Playa del Carmen. We were glad we were on the northern end of 5th Ave. It is much more quiet, but still close enough to all the resturants and very close to the beach. The condo was perfect and we felt very safe there with a guard at the gate everynight. Our favorite place to eat was just a block down 38th del Norte-- El Cuavo del Changa (The Monkey's Cave). We ate many meals there and everything was fabulous!
Condo is very nice but on a busy street with a lot of traffic and noise. It works well for a single individual or couple sharing a bed but there is no second bed or comfortable couch for sleeping if two singles are traveling together. The staff at these condos is very nice and helpful.
It is an ideal location for access to 5th Avenue shopping and restaurants but not for walking to the beach. Although there is beach access 2 blocks away you have to walk a long way to find a place to set up because the beach has eroded at the end of 38th street and there is no place to put a chair unless it is in the water. I have stayed on this street many times before and was very disappointed to see the extensive erosion that has occurred on this section of the beach.
I had a blast in Playa del Carmen and most of the reasons is about this amazing place for my staying. The place is so cozy and the location is very convenient to the beach and the strip(5th avenue). Definitely recommend this sweet condo for your nights here in Play del Carmen! Make sure to check out the restaurant: Imprevist, Nativo, Sushi Club, El fogon!
My husband and I spent three weeks in Playa del Carmen at Arena Blanca. Our stay was January 8-29th, 2016. As you can imagine, we were so excited as we have never taken an extended vacation before.
The entire staff at Arena Blanca were excellent. The property manager was very helpful, security guard was so friendly, maintenance man- kind and efficient, housekeeper thorough!
Before renting we read many reviews of how quiet it was. The quiet they meant was activity wise. At most there were only three to four couples in the 11 unit condo the entire time we were there.
The property was highly and beautifully maintained. The condo was very clean,
The small grounds and pool look amazing. It all makes for a very beautiful picture........
You wonder why not 5 stars---Sight is one aspect of the entire trip. Another very huge piece is "livability". Arena Blanca FAILS that miserably. It is located at the intersection of 2 very busy streets. Traffic is nonstop 24 hours a day. When we took this vacation we were hoping for a place of fun, sightseeing, rest AND relaxation. You cannot have the windows open without the constant street noise. On a beautiful day it would've been so nice to open the windows and enjoy the tropical breezes. Day or night you cannot sit out on the balcony and have breakfast, lunch or dinner without the roar and honking of traffic. The only table in the condo is located on the noisy balcony, We ate one meal per day out, the rest in.
Because the property is constantly maintained ,the entire time we were there, the pool was nearly impossible to use. Many days of pruning and tending to the landscaping, a few days the pool was drained down. The remaining days they were painting the deck and all the surrounding areas. The entire 3 weeks there were at least two men working in the small space We made one attempt but impossible without earbuds to drown out the street noise. We saw a handful of people using the pool in the 3 weeks.
The second bed is not a pull out but just a separate little piece that fits in the couch. do not rent arena Blanca if you have more than two people. The bed would be impossible to sleep on. The best way to deal with all the problems we had was to get away from the condo. We did a few tours and had to rent a car several days to travel to different beach areas and quiet.Gorgeous beaches south of Playa!
The area was beautiful- do not choose Arena Blanca. It is a place to spend the nights -- not to relax there.
My wife, my son and I spent six nights in this beautiful, well appointed condo. Setting up our stay with Lisa was simple, she is a very pleasant person to do business with. Once we arrrived we simply followed the guidance in her tip sheet as far as where to eat, where to swim and how to get from place to place. Our favorite days were spent at Akumal, which is as nice a beach as you will find anywhere. Very easy to get to using the collectivos and you will be amazed at how many sea turtles you will be able see up close. Just a great vacation and we can't wait to go back!
Arena Blanca is one of the best kept secrets in Playa del Carmen. It is centrally located less than minutes from 5th Avenue, but in a fairly quiet side of town. The condo is beautifully decorated with native art and accents and is extremely private and comfortable and within walking distance of everything. The pool and the surrounding grounds are gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The staff are warm and accommodating. This is an extremely quiet complex with only eleven units total. The guests at this complex consisted of several families with children and alot of adult couples. Dealing with Shari and Lisa throughout the entire process was a delight. They were great at providing whatever information we needed and at addressing any personal issues we had immediately. They supplied us with a handy guide to restaurants and local places to see and things to do which proved to be most helpful. We wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else but Arena Blanca on our next trip to Playa del Carmen. Thank you Shari and Lisa for sharing this magical place with us. We loved it!
Excellent place to stay. Very clean and well maintained. Arena Blanca is steps away from the busy 5th Ave. Its on the northern quieter side of town. If you want to come relax and stay away from all the noise, this is the place to stay.
There is an Oxxo (like a 7/11) right across the street for quick snacks, water or over the counter medicine. Clubs and bars are just a walk away. The beach is a block away. The famous Mamitas Beach Club is about a 10 minute walk. I rented two beach layout chairs and a palapa for $9USD. They also have staff to take food and drinks out to the beach.
Places I recommend to eat... (all on 5th Avenue)
La Parilla, La Vagabunda, La Cueva del Chango, Bip Bip.
Short cab ride - La Mission (Mexican Food), and El Fogon (Outstanding Tacos)
You must go to Tulum and Akumal Beach (awesome snorkeling).
Visit Chichenitza and Xcaret.
Arena Blanca is located just a short jaunt to a beautiful beach in a great neighborhood surrounded by dozens of local restaurants. From the chocolate shop, french bakery, coffee shop, Mexican restaurants to fine dining you'll find more options for dining than you'll have time for! Playa is a special place!
