On the ocean in Langosta next door to the incredible Inclusive resort Barcelo Hotel & Casino. Spectacular sunsets await you. Live your dreams in Costa Rica.
Oceanfront condominium with all the luxuries of home. Thirteen units in a private gated community. Steps from the Sand, and private pool. approx. 10 min from town.
Steps from the beach incredible sunsets, pool entrance a stones throw away.
We stayed a week March '16. It is hotter than the hubs of he-double-hockey-sticks, so be prepared! The property has security, very well manicured grounds, is small and quaint, off the beaten path, literally a few steps from the pool, and 1 minute walk through the locked gate to the ocean! The accommodations are great - private laundry rm - soap included, 2 single beds in one bedroom, a queen bed in the master with a master bath. Living room, dining and kitchen are spacious and have all that you need. 2nd bath off the living space that the teenagers used. Lots of towels! Kitchen is well stocked - dish soap included. There is a charcoal grill on the patio, but charcoal is more expensive than at home (Minnesota) and the fluid is a gel that is barely sufficient. The only thing I would improve on the property is the outside chairs as they have probably seen their better days, but were still functional for coffee in the a.m. and wine in the p.m. while listening to the ocean. You will see iguanas and geckos on property, as well as some birds. This property is off the beaten path, but still very close to town - 3 min drive.
Be sure to hit the farmers market right down the road from the property on Saturday a.m. - pineapple is to die for! Beach walks are a must - go during low tide to check out the tide pools. If you have a car, go to the town of Guatil to check out the hand made pottery (the office can direct you) - 1st house on the left in town is Edwin - he is fantastic! He will give you a full tour and explanation of their pottery making process that has been handed down over generations. He took us to the backyard and there were iguanas in his mango tree as well as a Howler monkey! Awesome! Ask questions! Be sure to check out Tamarindo Beach, the boat tour in the Nat'l Park is worth it - monkeys eating from our hands and on our heads! This is a very popular area for surfing. The roads suck, period. Rent an SUV for sure. Don't eat at the Bocas restaurant - overpriced for what you get. Cooking in the villa saved us a ton of money, but groceries are not as cheap there as they are here. We went to 3 different grocery stores - all were comparable, but be prepared, they aren't like at home!
We did have a couple maintenance issues in our villa - staff was prompt in repairing those items. CR is experiencing a major drought, we ran out of water, they bought 10,000 gallons, pump went out, hand repaired, up and running again. Would stay again!
Stayed at this property in May, 2015. Everything you need is included with the property. A quiet area, away from the hustle & bustle of Tamarindo. Just a few steps from the ocean, every sunset was beautiful! There were many things in the area to do, including ATV trail riding, Zip lining and whitewater rafting, great hikes along the many beaches in the area. Any problem was handled by the management company. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
My husband and I would highly recommend staying at this condo. It is literally steps to the ocean, just past locked gate, and the patio is 5 steps to the pool. The complex is peaceful and quiet with a 24/7 guard by the gate and the management company across the street. The condo is spacious, peaceful, clean, is equipped with everything you would want, including a safe that you program with your own code. We had all of the comforts of home plus a grocery store just down the road. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo and in a very easy to get to.
The owners were timely in answering our questions and even sent us an email asking about our trip!!!
This condo was perfect!
This is a special place.
1) Hear the surf and experience a more quiet residential cottage-like setting away from the hustle of Tamarindo.
2) Swim in the morning near the river by Barcello (they have life gaurds who will warn if rip tides or hazards are present)
3) Never miss the sunsets right outside your gate on the beach
4) Take an evening swim before bedtime....after wandering into Tamarindo for a bite.
Love it and will return again soon.
Owner and property manager are wonderful people. RPM is right across the street.
Thanks so much for your kindness.
It's hard to even know where to start! At first I was a little hesistant to book through this owner because there was no contract and I was basically sending cash (check) to her which made me a little nervous. Lola sent me confirmation through email and everything worked out just fine. So don't let that stop you from booking here. This was the best vacation my husband and I have ever had. This condo is in a perfect location for those they don't want the activity of nightlife in Tamarindo. It's quiet, secure and we felt very safe there the whole time. The condo is better than what I was expecting. Nothing fancy, but simple, clean and comfortable. We were out and about most of the time anyway, so we never look to spend a lot on housing when we travel. We spend our $ on excursions and what not instead. We used the pool everyday and enjoyed the quick access to the beach for early AM walks and PM sunsets. We did rent a car and found it helpful to have to go to the grocery, beach and restuarants each day if you don't feel like cooking. I am glad we had a car because we did not cook much. We did walk to Cala Luna for breakfast and dinner which is just down the street. The service was great and so was the food. We loved the Langosta area. Langosta Beach Club is a great place to hang out for the day and it's pretty cheap to do so. We took surf lessons at Kelly's, sunset cruise through Marlin del Rey, went fishing, and finished our week with a full day at Los Altos de Eros spa on the moutain. The spa day was pricey, but totally worth it and a great way to spend your last day on vacation. Lola and the folks at RPM can also help you book trips. Best prices on groceries are at the SuperCompro in town. AutoMercado is nice, but pricier. We rented a vehicle with Poas as suggested by Lola. Had a few issues mechanically with the car, but in the end they made everything right. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and we will be back!
We were here 10 years ago to get married, and we returned to renew our vows with our 5 and 7 y/o sons.
This was the perfect location for our family. Langosta is nice and quiet, the market is just up the road, and the pool is about 7 steps away from the condo. My boys are like fish so they lived in the pool. Perfect for us as our boys are great swimmers. Maybe not so great for much younger kids, or ones that don't swim as well, as there is no safety gate.
The unit was the perfect set up for us. Not fancy, but functional, clean, safe, quiet and affordable. What more could we ask for?!
Surfing breaks are just a short walk down the beach. For a more mellow beach experience head into town. No rocks and kinder waves. We went to the Langosta Beach Club several times. For a fee you have access to their gym, pool and beach. Yummy cocktails too! It's about a 15 minute walk down the road. Not bad at all.
Lola in the management office is amazing and very helpful. She arranged transportation from the airport for us, daily exclusions and a baby sitter. Sol was our sitter. She is a wealth of information and we wish we could take her with us. Absolutely made our trip! Our boys asked every night if Sol could come over. She is an event planner too and arranged almost everything for our vow renewal.
Try the breakfasts a Sueno del Mar. A B&B just a short walk up the beach. The French toast is out of this world!
The only restaurant in the area is the Surf Club just past the market. Food is average- chicken fingers, fries, really its all fried, but perfect for kids. Foos ball table, puzzles, darts, and lots of Imperial kept mom, dad, and kids happy. The bartender makes the best salsa I've ever had. Buy some if he has some made!
We have already put a request in to reserve this unit for next year. Can't wait to come back.
SUNSETS, walking on the beach is amazing.
