Set within the 250 acres of natural woodland, Roadford Lake Lodges is an exclusive collection of 30 properties which are just a short drive of Devon and Cornwall's coastline.

With its spacious interior, contemporary furnishings, and large patio complete with private hot tub, this home has all you'll need for relaxing family holidays. Three superior bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite, means that the property comfortably accommodates six people, with the open-plan layout of the living / dining and cooking space being perfect for both entertaining and socialising in. Rustle up fabulous feasts in the stunning industrial-style kitchen or sink into a nubuck leather sofa and soak up the tranquil atmosphere of the site. On warm days you'll be able to fling the patio doors open and invite the fresh countryside in while you fire up the BBQ and relax in the sunshine.

The fantastic location of Roadford Lake Lodges also makes for a great day out for those wishing to explore the surrounding area. Head over to the nearby Activity Centre and enjoy a variety of water and land-based activities like kayaking, SUP-ing, high ropes or fishing. Or for those who prefer to adventure on foot, the surrounding network of footpaths and cycle tracks suit visitors of all ages and abilities and are perfectly suited to those guests who have their canine companions in tow.

Beautiful place ,excellent walks and peaceful

Roadford lake lodges is an ideal place to stay to unwind and press the reset button. The lodges are in top condition. With all the creature comforts you'll need .The layout of the site is cleverly done as each lodge is not over looked by another and the gym is a nice touch ,well stocked for all gym goers .located literally next to the lake which offers you and your dog a tranquil place to walk with a cafe not far away either. As like most myself and my wife have hectic lives and Roadford lake lodges offers the ideal break to reset and enjoy nature and peace

Great value for money. Comfortable stay

We had a fantastic stay at Saffron lodge. Very comfortable, especially the sofas! Great location for Lauceston castle and Lydford Gorge . Maintenance staff are excellent, and checked the hot tub daily to ensure it was in working order. The only change I would suggest would be an upgrade to some of the utensils, better pots and pans and a potato peeler . 5/5

Fantastic stay

Superb relaxed stay Beautiful location and the chalet was just perfect. Really clean and all amenities available, well stocked kitchen with all equipment needed

We loved saffron we have stayed in a few over the last couple of years but we’ve not had a bad lodge at all . We enjoyed our visitors all the different breeds of ducks

Excellent little break

Family of 4 (2 teenagers 15) and a dog. The walks around the lake were fantastic. The lodge itself was magnificent. We made great use of the hot tub and the ducks kept us entertained. For the teenagers hot tub was key aswell.as great WIFI. Great lodge would recommend Saffron. Five stars from us.

Amazing place

Lovely location, easy access and local to all our favourite places we like to visit. Definitely a place to return to. Home was lovely and spacious. Hot tub awesome. Even the ducks gave us plenty of entertainment!

Lovely Lodge

Saffron is a lovely clean lodge, in a great location. Nice modern equipment, comfy beds (except for pillows that could be better), great layout. A couple of minor comments that could make it even better: not enough cutlery or crockery - if you are accommodating for 6 people, then you need at least 12 of everything so you don't have to wash everything after every meal! The dishwasher went on sometimes 3 times a day... huge waste of water and energy. Also, a few more cooking items would be helpful - larger bowls, serving dishes etc Overall, we had a fab week and will be returning as soon as we can.

All you can hear us birdsong

Saffron Lodge is absolutely stunning- I would be happy to live there! Beautiful inside & out with everything you could need. We will definitely stay at Roadford Lodges again - really relaxing and the dogs also loved it. All you can hear is birdsong. The walks are fabulous, the staff are friendly- what more do you need.

Warm and comfortable

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saffron Lodge. The lodge was spotless and very well equipped. It was well positioned - private and quiet with the added bonus of watching the antics of the ducks, rabbits and other wildlife around the pond. The sun kept the lodge beautifully warm during the day. The hot tub was the cleanest I have ever seen. We appreciated being able to catch up on streaming our favourite shows in the evenings. Lots to do in the surrounding area and great walks around the lake.

Beautiful lodge, relaxing time

We arrived a little early, although we couldn't get into our lodge straightaway staff were very friendly and accommodating. The lodge itself is stunning, beautifully decorated and maintained, and everything you can think of is provided - definitely a home away from home. The surroundings are gorgeous. Overall a fab short break, will definitely return.

A delighful retreat

I recently stayed at Saffron Lodge and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in a tranquil location, this lodge offers the perfect escape from everyday life. The accommodation was clean, modern, spacious with elegantly furnished rooms with beautiful views out to the duck pond and beryond. The location is ideal for taking day trips to places like Tintagel and The Eden Project, while closer to home there's an activity centre on the shores of the lake nearby.

Saffron Lodge

Stayed for a long weekend with friends and a dog. Great location by the mini lake. Cabin was excellent, really comfortable and modern. Was a relaxed site close to the main lake which you could access from the site. My dog loved watching the ducks, luckily the pond was enclosed. The garden area wasn’t enclosed so harder to all be in the hot tub at once so a ground spike is useful. The only thing I felt was missing was a chopping board. There is no bbq so if you want to buy disposables get matches as well as lighter in cabin didn’t work. One of the outside doors did get stuck, it’s a bit of unusual opening mechanism but others were fine. Not much on site and no staff in office when I went. Pillows were a bit lumpy not very supportive. Take everything you need with you. Dispute this would really recommend this cabin, it’s a good location and would stay again on this site.

Would recommend but.....

We would highly recommend this destination and would return. However, a couple of points to note. 1/ Although the sheets were clean there was obvious marking on the duvet covers where presumably dogs had been allowed on the beds 2/ The kitchen was minimally kitted out with crockery and glasses and lacked coffee making equipment not even a cafetiere (only a kettle).

Wonderful Stay

We stayed at Saffron Lodge at Roadford Lake for two weeks at the beginning of May. I have to say it was probably the best UK holiday we have had. The area around the lodges is superb. It’s very well maintained with beautiful grass areas and bushes/flowers, really lovely. Saffron Lodge was the ideal location for us, hidden away at the bottom next to the pond. The lodge was very clean and had everything you could want. We loved the outdoor seating area (It would be nice if some sun beds could be put there). The lake was lovely to walk and run around. The cafe next to the lake has great views and it’s a great place to get a coffee. Unless you’re happy to stay in your lodge/local to the lake, you need a car to get out and about. We dined at The Fox and Grapes, which is a pub in Lifton. (Dog friendly).The food was home made and very delicious. Strawberry Fields is a gorgeous place to get groceries and they have a wonderful restaurant too (dog’s okay in the outdoors). Launceston has some big supermarkets if you need them. The location of the lodge is great for visiting other area’s in Devon & Cornwall. We visited Tintagel, Plymouth, Port Isaac and went for walks on Dartmoor a couple of times. We went to Black Rock beach in Bude (dog friendly all year). We also went to the Jamaica Inn. Next time, we’ll go a bit further down into Cornwall for the day. We have had the holiday blues since being back, as we had such a wonderful time. Luxury Coastal has some fab place to stay and will be using them for our September get-away.

Review of our week break.

Overall we had a nice stay - the lodge was clean and well equipped. The area was lovely and quiet. Our lodge did seem unfinished as there were wires hanging out the wall in one of the bedrooms (looked like they were waiting for a TV to be mounted) and screws on the wall waiting for photos etc to be hung. We did however have no internet for the whole of our stay and there was very little signal. This caused significant problems as one of our party needed to work during the break and rather than being able to do this during the evening we had to go out in the day specifically for them to access internet - which affected everyone's week. we did report the issue and it was only our lodge as we spoke to other guests. Although we spoke to the 'manager' several times he was little to no help, showed no concern or sympathy and did nothing to resolve it except say he had contacted the IT team. It would have been a nice gesture if he had visited the lodge and expressed some urgency to resolving the matter. I feel that the lodges are let down by the lack of on site assistance and lack of customer service. Whilst I would potentially stay here again I would not rush to and would look at alternative locations that are better managed.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the wires in the bedroom wall, these were in place from when the property was finished two years ago, in case the owners decided to add a tv, however, there are no plans to install one in that bedroom and we have had no complaints regarding this previously. We are sorry about the hook for the picture, the picture that had been up was unfortunately broken by a previous guest and the replacement had not arrived in time for your stay, for which we are very sorry. With regards to the WiFi, unfortunately we’re unable to guarantee the speed or availability at each property as many properties are in remote or rural locations and Roadford Lake is quite rural. Occasionally, when the site is full, and the weather not great, the Wifi can be very slow as lots of people are using it. I am sorry to hear the maintenance person was not able to help to visit the property with the issues whilst you were there, but he has confirmed he contacted the external company to ask them to look into it for you. Roadford Lake for 28 days

Roadford Lake Lodges , beautiful countryside and easy walking access to the Reservoir itself, Grounds around the Lodges were kept immaculate as were the hot tubs, serviced regularly. We talked to the Guest Manager, Kevin. Very responsive. We had an issue with locking the front door, + opening the tall glass living room doors. This double lock system was new to us - Kevin’s explanation was simple, easy and kindly received. Also he fixed the shower glass door which had jumped off its rails before arrival. The house keeping lady came one day and explained we would have weekly change of linens and towels and we thought at least a weekly clean of Saffron Lodge. we did get extra towels early on and mostly got weekly linens but the lodge cleaning never happened. We did have a washer dryer that worked superbly. Open plan kitchen living/dining we are used to and love it. Kitchen was workable but not quite as comprehensive a set of cooking things as I had hoped. However the local Supermarket in Launceston had a roasting dish with lid that was perfect. Better for the oven as all splatter is contained….. Believe the previous occupant may have missed that too or maybe they were oblivious. Just before we left we heard The Lodges had lost a key housekeeping person - with no handover not an easy time for the Team to recover. The Lodges were pretty busy - despite this we all coexisted pretty well. All in all a good stay.

A Very relaxing comfortable set up

This is a small site very well set out and presented. Very clean and tidy and all the homes are very well maintained. They are luxurious inside with loads of space and have everything you could need. The site staff were always on site if needed and were very helpful. We chose the Saffron as it was set back from the road and we had a dog, it was right on the pond and looked one of the more secluded lodges and we were not disappointed. One slight area for improvement may be that the garden/lawn area to each lodge could maybe have had some sort of fence enclosure to stop dogs wandering to far especially when you are in the hot tub, our dog is pretty well behaved but if your dog likes to wander it could, I realise the open plan makes easy access for grass cutting etc but just a thought. I had not been too fussed about lodges with hot tubs before on previous trips ( generally quite a bit more expensive and just didn't see the need ). As the cost of these lodges was very reasonable and the hot tub was included I thought bonus. We made use of it every night and it was so relaxing after a day exploring and in this particular lodge you have the added bonus that its one of the most private on the site and it overlooks the pond with all of its resident wildlife, ducks, squirrel's and rabbits, sooo relaxing. The lake was a short walk through the trees where there is a lovely cafe which is very reasonably priced and serves great food. We took paddle board and Kayak and had hours of fun every night in the lake. I would highly recommend this site if you just want to get away from it all and have as relaxed a time as you choose or if you are prepared to travel, at most an hour and a half in any direction gets you to all the areas of interest in Devon and Cornwall, with some great little places within half an hour. All in all we had a great week and a big part of that was this site and we would definitely like to come again one day.
