A Traditional East Lothian Cottage

Set in the beautiful rolling East Lothian countryside, Middle Cottage is a traditional stone built property furnished to a high standard. This home from home provides cosy, comfortable accommodation and all the facilities needed for a relaxing break

The space
Private, detached cottage with private garden and driveway.

**New in 2022 7KW EV charger installed**
There is an additional charge to use the charger tbc at time of stay.

Guest access
The accommodation comprises of 2 large bedrooms, one double room with king sized bed and one bedroom offering twin beds. A maximum of 4 people can be accommodated. The bright sunny kitchen also provides space for dining and the newly refurbished bathroom has a powerful mains pressure shower (no bath).

Other things to note
Off road parking is adjacent to the cottage and there is space for 2 cars only. We have just recently installed a 7KW EV charger (additional charges apply).

Middle cottage is excellent - welcoming, comfortable, warm, and very well and comprehensively furnished. It has everything we needed and more, and Jan provided many basic provisions and treats. We very much enjoyed our stay, and it made an excellent base for exploring the Borders as well as East Lothian.

Lovely cottage in peaceful location

The cottage is delightful - very comfortable with quality furnishings and lovely touches throughout. We particularly enjoyed the secluded garden. Highly recommended for a quiet stay in the countryside close to some fabulous golf courses and coastal towns.

Lovely property and excellent location. We joked about how everything was no more than 15 minutes away! Cottage was perfect for us. Rooms are large and not cramped. Wrong time of year to enjoy the garden but it was lovely to look out on. We didnt need the log burner as the central heating made the cottage very cosy.

Absolutely stunning Cottage, warm and friendly welcome from the owner's on arrival. Close Location to the train station and the bus to Edinburgh. Approx 7mls from the Scottish golf open. Highly recommend.

Lovely house

What a lovely house in East Linton. House was over complete and everything in great shape. Very comfortable beds. With train easy acces to Edingburg.. We enjoyed staying here and recommend it to anybody

Beautiful Quiet Country Setting

Very well kept property inside and out, these folks have put their heart into this cottage with all the little details plus! Beautiful flowered private garden yard area in back, and lovely flowers in front. Very cozy inside with little wood stove. Nice quiet country road to take walks, a wonderful Scottish experience for us!!

Markle Magic

We really enjoyed our stay at Middle Cottage. We felt very much at home. We loved the secluded garden and the peace and quiet of Markle. The simplest shower we have ever experienced!It is a great location to travel from to enjoy the delights of East Lothian. Cottage is big enough for four adults, fine hard shower and even more important: great service! Couches a bit old and low/soft for people with backackes.. Beds are fine, although the springs make noise 😉 Probably also formerly owned. But overall a very pleasant stay!!! Cottage was clean ( cooking ehm fan/exhoust overlooked by cleaner probably) overall. Thick walls so perfect temperature and almost no pesty insects…

A true comfortable home from home!

We wanted a comfortable relaxing break away for New Year and that is what we got. Whilst the photos show a beautifully and well furnished cottage with everything you need, they cannot convey the warm feeling of the cottage.........much helped by the warm welcome we got on arrival when Jan welcomed us and showed us in, with the log burner already lit. Very easy access to the coast and villages of East Lothian, and into Edinburgh by train for a day out, followed by a home cooked meal and relaxing evening in front of the TV with lots of channels to choose from. Unlimited wood for the log burner included, but too cold to examine garden. But beautiful peaceful and easy to find location. Would definitely return to this very special place. Thanks for having us!

Really lovely stay which we all thoroughly enioyed. Such a peaceful cottage with everything you could need and more. Kids loved the games in the cupboard and all the trinkets round the house. Excellent location for exploring the area too. Really recommend

Ein hübsches Cottage mit einem kleinen, süßen und uneinsehbaren Garten. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich, alles war sehr sauber und und wir haben uns an den drei Tagen wohl gefühlt.
