After a busy day exploring the local fells, relax in your own private hot tub and admire the night sky.. 4 steps to entrance.

Lower Ground Floor:

Living/dining room: 32" Freeview TV

Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included.. Small enclosed garden with terrace and garden furniture. Hot tub for 4 (Private). Private parking for 1 car; additional parking on request. No smoking.. Situated on a working beef and sheep farm, this cute apartment with an upside down layout is connected to the owner’s farmhouse with a private entrance. It is well equipped and comes complete with its own private hot tub, so you can take a dip underneath the night sky. This property is just perfect to ease those aching muscles after a day of fell walking on the adjacent Blencathra. The property has a small enclosed garden area with artificial grass and patio furniture so you can sit out and relax. On the ground floor you will find a comfortable bedroom and a shower room, whilst on the lower ground floor, there is an open plan living/dining room featuring an electric recliner sofa and armchair with views across to the northern Lake District Fells, great to relax in after a day of adventure. The kitchen has been finished to a very good standard and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay.



Threlkeld is a small village just off the A66 which is the main route between Penrith and Keswick. Almost directly opposite is Keswick Golf Club, so if you fancy a round while you are away, you couldn’t be much closer. The quaint villages of Threlkeld and Scales, along with a couple of local pubs offering great food and local cask ales, are both just a mile away. The property is 5 miles from the vibrant Lake District town of Keswick, which is brimming with great restaurants, pubs serving local craft ales, an excellent range of shopping experiences and some memorable tourist attractions. If you fancy something a bit different, then why not visit the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil. The Puzzling Place, which is full of mind-boggling optical illusions, is also worth a visit. If you like culture, you could try the Theatre by the Lake, with its enviable position on the shores of Derwentwater, which offers award winning performances in drama and arts.



If you like walking or cycling, you are surrounded by some of the most challenging and iconic fells in the area, as well as a number of less challenging walking routes suitable for people who like sightseeing without the strain. Keswick is at the northern end of Derwentwater, one of the area’s iconic lakes offering watersports, and is a great base and starting point for many an adventure. You can tick off a few of Wainwright’s 214 Lakeland Fells, including Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn within a few miles radius. For your next Lake District escape, with your own private hot tub, look no further than Shepherds Bield. Shop 4½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1¼ miles.

Shepherd’s Bield can be booked together with Harrison’s Lodge (UK1259), Lucy’s Lodge (UK1260), Grajo Lodge (UK1284), Darci’s Lodge (UK1297), Derwent Dale Cottage (UK1334), Brackendale (UK1335), Doddick Chase Cottage (UK1363), The Rocking Lodge (UK11517) and Danika East (UK32363) to accommodate up to 32 guests.



The door to the property will be open and the key in the back of the door. Just replace the key in the door as you leave.

The property is located on a working farm.

Due to cleaning and maintenance, hot tubs may not be up to temperature on the first night of your stay.

There are steps to the property.

Got to the place which was easy to find.

Got to the place which was easy to find. Beautiful views and immaculately clean. Unfortunately when we got there Friday the hottub was not turned on so we couldn't use it until it had heated up on the Saturday. Which was disappointing. The cottage is perfect except for a few small details. The blinds in the kitchen and bathroom don't work. The recliner suite was broken on the right side. The hittub needs an overall broken lid, lights, and jets. Not very clean neither. We would return if amendments were made.

The perfect base for a walking holiday in the Lakes for 1 or 2 people.Well equipped kichen,shower room,cosy lounge with reclining furniture and a large bedroom with mountain views.The outside hot tub is a blessing and the central heating is very efficient which is important in the Lakes.Lovely quiet location and silent at night.I fully intend returning soon.

Unfortunately, as many have said in the guest book previously. It's a great location, but the property is tired. it's dirty. The sofa is broken, and the amount of dirt in the sofa is awful. Only one set of lights works in the lounge. Black mould in the shower. Old crusty blood on the bedding. Cobwebs in the bedroom. Floorboards loose on the landing. Bathroom carpet gripper sticking up and is a trip hazard. Blinds in both the kitchen and bathroom dont work properly, leaving you with no privacy. The hot tub is broken, and only 2 jets work at full function. Lid is too big and heavy and isn't keeping the heat in. The outside light is broken. Privacy fences around the pool are broken with gaps and holes. The outside seating area is 2 chairs and a broken table squashed in next to the oil boiler, so you get gassed out by the fumes whilst supposedly relaxing. Needs a roof over the top to protect feom weather and pine needles as the garden has bot seen a hoover for several years. The hot tub had lots of needles in before we even got in, which is indicating that it hadn't been cleaned before we got there. Dog barks continuously. No directions, and as it's hidden round the back, after walking past what looked like a tip, it eventually was found. Parking is not the best, and no contact number was provided. I am very disappointed with the property, and repairs need to be done. There is no point leaving feedback if they aren't going to fix the problems that were highlighted in 2018.
