Perfect Family Getaway Near Perpignan

We had a fantastic family holiday at a lovely gite just outside Perpignan. Traveling with our 9-year-old and 10-month-old baby, we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Sue and Steve. From the moment we arrived, their hospitality made us feel right at home. The property itself exceeded our expectations. Our private apartment was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, showing great attention to detail. The outdoor saltwater pool was a highlight, offering a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Sue and Steve were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They were always available for a chat or to offer advice on local attractions and activities. Their genuine warmth and daily interactions made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this gite for a peaceful and delightful stay near Perpignan.

Had a fantastic stay at the Stables, the courtyard with our own outside cooking area was great snd beautifully cared for by Steve and Sue (hosts). Without a doubt though the crowning glory is the pool, it truly was the cleanest, loviest pool we’ve ever used. Steve and Sue we’re available if needed for advice about anything but also very discreet and allowed privacy. We had a lovely holiday and feel like we made good friends with Sue and Steve. Will definitely stay there again if in that area and would recommend to anyone- you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous relaxing short break in Perpignan.

This was our first visit to Perpignan, and we were looking for somewhere to relax, unwind and de-stress. From the first contact Sue & Steve were amazing and helpful in planning our stay. The property is close enough to local shops, and a pleasant walk into Perpignan itself, although we only went once, as the property itself was so incredible. We were welcomed personally by Sue & Steve, who showed us around and we were instantly impressed. The property was impeccably clean and tidy, the garden with it's Lemon, Orange and other trees well kept, and the large pool was a great way to cool down from the warmth of the sun. All in all the stay was perfect for what we were looking for. We had a fabulous week and would love to return. Highly recommended!

A beautiful location and lovely hosts

Our family had a lovely stay in August 2022. The property had all we wanted, a stylish and clean Gite, the pool was fantastic and the hosts - Sue and Steve, couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly! We have re-booked for next year.

Idyllic

Charming property in an idyllic setting. The grounds and pool are lovely. We were happy to chill by the pool and BBQ in the evenings. On other days we went to the beautiful beaches or into the Pyrenees to find cooler lakes. You need a car for the beach. Perpignan is a great place to explore too as is the region. Steve and Sue are amazing hosts - we took on board all of their sightseeing tips and had some wonderful days. We’ll be going back for more.

A welcome break

We booked pre-covid& had several late changes of flights/dates as a result. Sue was great at keeping in touch& being flexible while we resolved this. The accommodation was well equipped, particularly liked the BBQ area and outside spaces to eat. The courtyard was beautifully maintained& looked lovely when lit at night. The pool was exceptional with plenty of space to relax. Sue&Steve were excellent hosts, very available, friendly& informative about the area. The property is well located for both Perpignan & the beaches, Pyrenees etc. Great seafood available nearby. We felt we would have liked longer to fully explore all the area has to offer. Hope to return at some point in the future.

Beautiful villa and excellent location

Sue and Steve are the most wonderful hosts and their ability to make you feel welcome but at the same time let you enjoy your stay, is spot on. The grounds are so beautiful and the pool is excellent, particularly clean and the salt water filtration system ensures that you can stay all day in the pool without the slightest sting of the eye. The pool is also very secure and great for younger children. The Cerises villa was immaculately clean, really well stocked and ideal for a family of four. The outside private eating area is secluded and great for BBQs. Steve and Sue had no hesitation in providing toys and activities our children would like and we were immensely grateful given we remained at the villa for the majority of the holiday (we stayed just after lockdown). Nevertheless there was plenty to do in and around the area, we were just content to spend the time at this wonderful place. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Wonderful holiday.

We've recently returned from a 10 night stay in Le Cerisier. What can we add to previous fantastic reviews? The property is lovely, everything that you could possibly need is available, the pool area is fabulous, and the barbecue facilities are perfect. The owners, Sue and Steve are friendly and helpful. It is a short walk into Perpignan where there is an abundance of restaurants and bars. You will need a torch for the walk home if returning late, or a taxi for @ 10 euros. Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area. Strongly recommend the Gorge of Galamus and the Cathar Castles, the busy but beautiful resort of Coulliere, and a short drive away is the Spanish border. We visited Palomas, a little fishing port. Nearby beaches are good and local markets are well worth a visit. Overall, a lovely holiday. Thanks Sue and Steve.

Smashing Holiday

Ceresis was excellent in every way. Everything needed for a great holiday. Smashing swimming pool, wonderful barb-e q area. Nice little terrace to sit out on. Clean linen supplied every week. The DVD did not work, a brand new one was supplied the next day. Could not fault Sue and Steve. Great attention to detail. Secure parking... Even a separate laundry room with washing machine. Lovely couple who looked after us really well. A big thank you to you both

Lovely house with great hosts

House tucked away on a lane so very peaceful. We stayed in the 2 bedroom house. Lovely property with stylish rooms and big kitchen diner. Outside is lovely. Plenty of room to eat surrounded by shade and pretty lights. The pool is fantastic. Good shallow but fir toddlers and plenty of room to swim. Salt water so not full of chlorine. Lots of places around it to lounge around and plenty of shade. Sweet garden with good play equipment for children. Very friendly hosts who were lovely with kids. Would highly recommend.

Perfect in Perpignan

All the information and communication during the booking process and prior to our holiday was excellent. If anything, the property exceeded our expectations in terms of how it looks, the attention to detail, and the amount of thought which the owners have put into making visitors as comfortable as possible during their stay. The facilities are well thought out and looked after with every need catered for. The quality of the furnishings and equipment is always of a very high standard. The owners, Sue and Steve, are frequently available, ensuring that the property is meeting the needs of the guests and supporting them with any additional requirements, guidance and advice. The buildings, planting and outdoor furnishings are delightful with the swimming pool being the star attraction. Ten minutes walk along a country lane takes you to the outskirts of Perpignan and an excellent boulangerie. The property is in itself a peaceful retreat and also forms a great base for visits along the French and Spanish coast, historic and important towns such as Carcassonne, Narbonne and Figueres, as well as intriguing wildlife habitats such as the inland etangs and the Pyrenees mountains. Perpignan itself is an attractive and engaging city, with lots to explore in the Old Town and beyond including historical buildings, art galleries as well as contemporary shops large and small. Restaurants in Perpignan and the region as a whole are plentiful and, in our experience, very good. During the summer Perpignan hosts weekly festival activities across the Old Town every Thursday evening. Overall, our stay was excellent from arrival to departure, and we would happily return and also recommend Le Cerisier and the adjoining property to friends and family. Lovely owners, great accommodation, fantastic holiday.

The property is very clean, comfortable and homely with a very well equipped kitchen. There is a lovely terrace for breakfasts etc and the pool is the nicest and cleanest one I have had on any overseas holiday. Sue and Steve are welcoming and helpful with excellent local knowledge.

Exactly as it was described in the blurb

Sue and Steve were very welcoming and friendly hosts, who respected our privacy too. The accommodation was extremely comfortable. We stayed in Le Cerisier and it was perfect for the two of us. Sue and Steve have considered everything that is required for a comfortable holiday experience. We wanted a relaxing holiday doing very little and that's what we achieved. We were car free, so walked in and out of Perpignan when we could tear ourselves away from the sun loungers. It's an easy walk. We used public transport and explored both coast and mountains - all very accessible, convenient and inexpensive. We were very spoiled as we were the only people staying at the Mas at the time, so had the pool area all to ourselves. However, there is plenty of space for all if there are people staying in the other accommodation. We had a peak into The Barn, which is beautifully presented. If we can gather the family together in one place, then we would consider booking the two cottages.

Fantastic cottage

We had a wonderful time at Sue and Steve's property. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and well-equipped. It is decorated to a very high standard and has everything in it that you would need for your stay. It was also spotlessly clean when we arrived. The pool area is beautiful and is a great bonus to staying there. The photos don't do justice to how lovely it is. It is a relaxing and peaceful place to swim or sunbathe and, just like the cottage, was always spotless. Sue and Steve are great hosts. They were friendly and helpful and really nice people. They have created a lovely place to stay. The location is really good, we liked the fact we weren't right in the city centre, but that we were close enough to walk to it/to walk to the supermarket or get out and about to places without having to get a car. We would definitely recommend staying here!

A wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings

Steve and Sue have lovingly restored this farmhouse to an exceptionally high standard. With tasteful décor, beautiful gardens, a tranquil pool, and very well-equipped and comfortable accommodation, they really have thought of everything. Located within easy reach of Perpignan centre, the beach, and the local bakery and supermarket, it was very convenient for everything we needed but nevertheless a secluded and quiet spot. Our children loved playing in the pool all day long, and we enjoyed several barbecues in the private terraced area outside. For cooking, guests are welcome to help themselves to the herbs growing in the garden and we were even lucky enough to try some of Sue's home grown produce. (We would recommend Sue's homemade jam from the fruit trees!) Thank you Steve and Sue for a wonderfully relaxing week!

Fantastic gite friendly and welcoming hosts

Excellent location, peaceful rural setting but only 20 minutes from Perpignan. 10 minutes from beach and great for exploring the Pyrenees and the coast around the old town of Perpignan. The gite is well appointed with everything you need including a fantastic outdoor eating and barbecue area. The pool is the best we've had in all our years of this kind of holiday. Sue and Steve couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming

A delightful 'home-from-home' near Perpignan!

We've just spent a week at Le Cerisier, the smaller of the two delightful holiday properties on the site, and can truly say, this was the best we have ever stayed in. The charming owners, Sue and Steve, have put so much care and thought into ensuring that the gite is exceptionally well equipped and beautifully presented. The inside is very comfortable and absolutely immaculate, and the plant-clad, decked area attached at the front of the property is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine (or two!) on a summer's evening. Each of the two properties has its own secluded barbecue area, again immaculately maintained, and pretty garden lighting makes the whole area quite magical when it gets dark. We didn't use the pool, but again, it was beautifully set up, with plenty of nice seating areas thoughtfully spaced around the outside. Our hosts Sue and Steve were friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome - it was like staying with good friends. They have put an immense amount of work into renovating their properties and making them welcoming and comfortable - and they've created a dream. We can't wait to go back!

Great family holiday in lovely accommodation

Really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was to a higher standard than i expected with real attention to detail put into the finish of the property. The pool was amazing and the surrounding gardens offer a great place to relax whilst also having facilities for kids. The location is perfect, 15 min drive from the airport, 20 min walk to Perpignan centre,10 min drive to the beach, 40 min drive into the Pyrenees. Sue & Steve are excellent hosts, very good company and couldn't do enough to help us which is invaluable if its your first time to the area. A very relaxing holiday, will definatly be returning!

Wonderfully peaceful place

We traveled to France wanting a few days of peace and quiet and Le Cerisier was absolutely perfect for that. The cottage was immaculate with everything you could possibly need and the swimming pool area was definitely a highlight - it even has underwater lights for those midnight dips! We barbecued every night on our own private terrace where the lights come on automatically as it gets dark - perfect! Sue and Steve really have thought of everything and are great hosts and have made a really beautiful place to stay in Perpignan.

Kleines Paradies

Wonderful holiday villa in the sun

We are a family with two girls (17 & 18) and stayed in the two bed accommodation. The owners Sue and Steve were next door but you never hear or see them unless you want to for advice or just a chat about the facilities or the area. They are exceptionally nice and excellent hosts. There are some rules but they are sensible and for the benefit of guests. Whist we were there a number of young Parisians had rented the bigger villa which forms part of the site. This did not prove to be a concern because the facilities are quite separate and the common areas such as gardens and pool are big enough for all to share. We enjoyed the region and spent a few days at the nearby beaches and a few days exploring the area. We became very interested in the Catars (13th Century heretics) and visited a few mountain top castles as well as the massive walled town of Carcassonne. When getting out and about we kept coming across familiar wine areas such as Fitou and Corbier which proved too much of a temptation and we ended up with an unhealthy stockpile. One of our favourite places nearby was Collioure which we went to several times for its colour and artistic feel. Perpignan itself is great and we walked in for dinner several nights. The girls found some clubs in town for late night excursions and that seemed to keep them happy. All in all a great place spend a summer holiday. everything you could possibly need is provided including a first class BBQ. The pool is lovely and a great size for swimming or just floating about. I am really happy to recommend Le Cerisier.
