About Mary MacDonald-Murray
Logan and Mary are a physician and an editor, respectively, parents of three children, who live in Freeport, Maine, but love to visit our camp on Young's Point.
Mary MacDonald-Murray purchased this Cottage in 1992
Why Mary MacDonald-Murray chose Augusta
This is a family home, built by Logan's great-great-grandfather on land that's been in our family since the late 1800s. It was insulated and winterized in the late 1980s, with a drilled well installed in 1992 and a new septic system in 1999; the furnace, which provides hot water as well as heat, was replaced in 2019. The location is private, with no immediate neighbors, on a well-maintained gravel road.
What makes this Cottage unique
Augusta is Maine's state capital, with local attractions such as historic Fort Western and the Maine State Museum, both ideal for kids and history buffs. The Maine coast, including Portland, is about an hour away. This spot on Togus Pond is an ideal starting point for day trips to many different places in Maine, as well as a great spot to spend a relaxing day.
