Wonderful stay at La Grange, St Foy de la Pech Bardat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Grange. Peter was a lovely host, charming with good knowledge of the local area. The house accommodated us well, with a well equipped large kitchen, ample crockery and kitchen implements, a large dining table and two fridges plus freezer. Plenty of room for the children to play. The pool was large and an excellent place to sunbathe, perfect for floating under the beautiful blue sky. Safe for the children with a self-closing gate, and the most beautiful views to the horizon. We had a really enjoyable stay in this lovely slice of heavenly France.

Fantastique séjour

Un endroit enchanteur

Une grange superbement restaurée, une piscine surplombant la vallée du Lot, un terrain de badminton dans un verger, un accueil simple et tranquille. Dan a été aux petits soins dès nos moindres besoins. Et pas loin, le joli village de Prayssas. Une semaine de vacances en famille formidable grâce à tous ces ingrédients et cela malgré la pluie.

A fantastic fortnight at La Grange in Sainte Foy!

La Grange is the largest of Peter's three properties situated in the quiet hamlet of Sainte Foy, and whilst it is secluded, it is only a fairly short five to ten minute drive to the village of Prayssas (with small local supermarket) and a twenty minute drive to the town of Port-Sainte-Marie (larger Intermarche supermarket) with other larger towns a little further afield, so all in all, ideally located! The property's five bedrooms are roomy with comfortable beds (two double and three twins) with an electric fan in each and were ideal for the ten of us who were staying. There was also a sofa bed on the upstairs landing but we didn't use it. The living room and kitchen area are massive with a TV with UK free to air satellite channels (handy for the World Cup at the time!), and the kitchen utensils etc. were generally sufficient, although just a couple more larger saucepans and some matching lids would have been handy, and a few more serving spoons (we bought a couple of cheap ones and left them there). The kitchen had one under counter freezer and two fridges, and a very large table but we ate outside every day! There are plenty of bathrooms/toilets with two proper shower cubicles and another over a bath, and we always had plenty of hot water with a very reasonable water pressure. The whole property was clean and tastefully decorated. Outside, there was a lovely large covered table area with plenty of seating plus a circular metal barbecue (charcoal - not gas) that we used on a couple of occasions. The grounds are extensive with beautiful views, and we were lucky enough to have the other two properties not occupied so we had the whole area and use of the facilities to ourselves. The pool is kept clean and massive, and we made use of the larges boules court and table tennis table, and there is also a footballing and badminton area and large field to enjoy. There is also a wooded area near the house and we occasionally saw a deer wandering through it and there was also pleanty of birds around to watch and listen to. Peter's son Dan (and partner) live on site in a small house and clean the pool and mow the grass etc. and to be there is we needed anything or any local advice, but otherwise we didn't see much of them. We loved our stay here and would thoroughly recommend the property and the surrounding area for a holiday in this region of France, in which there is plenty to occupy yourself with.

Great house

We had a wunderful time at La Gange. It is a Beautiful house, nice and clean. The pool was a delight and the surrounding landscape is beautifull. Al you need for a lovely vacation.

Le Pigeonnier - brilliant holiday

A beautiful property in a stunning location. We thought it looked beautiful on the website, when we arrived it was if anything better! There was everything we needed in the kitchen, the bedroom and bathroom were fine, there was then a spacious sitting room upstairs though in practice we didn't make much use of that as we were blessed with delightful weather for most of our stay. The pool was a delight, with stunning views, and we had a nice private eating area outside which we used for most of our meals - when not out and about. Plenty of good things to visit in the area. Real value for money!

Blissful Calm

This is the perfect place to get away from it all and truly relax. La Grange is an ingenious stone barn conversion, both spacious and cozy at the same time. The kitchen has an envious amount of work surface, ideal for collaborative cooking. The massive dining table was perfect for long relaxing suppers. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all well furnished and felt well spaced out. Outside is another dining table where we enjoyed our breakfasts and lunches. The gardens and pool are magnificent, and the view is something that will stay with us forever.

La Grange

This was our second time staying at La Grange and fourth time returning to the area and as always we were not disappointed and had a wonderful stay. The barn is beautiful - spacious clean and very well equipped, truly providing a home from home experience. The complex is beautifully situated with a nice pool overlooking stunning countryside and the location is peaceful yet close enough to the nearby hamlet of Prayssas which provides all necessary amenities. We hope to return soon.

The Perfect Holiday

Despite making the small mistake of driving down from England (a long drive), when we arrived, we thought we'd found a little piece of heaven. The location and house were perfect and with a large extended family, the swimming pool was a welcome relief. The sun shone for a week and we enjoyed it all. The house itself was very spacious with a very large open lounge/kitchen and with 5 double bedrooms, we were all able to have our own space. Peter the owner very kindly accomodated my son in a wheelchair by building a couple of ramps before we arrived - incredibly kind. Along with a downstairs bedroom, he felt completely at ease and relaxed, as did we all. The grounds are extensive and gave plenty of areas for painting, walking and generally chilling out. The area itself is beautiful in all aspects with the local 'ville' as charming as you could find anywhere. I can honestly say that I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants beautiful countryside, a beautiful house and beautiful memories.

Relaxing Beautiful Location - Exactly as described

We stayed at Sainte Foy in June 2009 after our son's wedding - we were a wedding party of 8 Adults and 2 children aged 5 and 6 including the Bride & Groom, family from California and daughter from Australia & NAN !!! We had the best holiday ever - all of us had the same views - the properties are all stunning and very well equipped, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The outside eating area and barbeque was used every evening - we also ate in a wonderful restaurant in the little town of Prayssas which is close by which was recommended to us by Peter who owns the properties. Both Peter and his son Daniel were lovely people who gave us loads of advice on where to go and what to see they really were very helpful and Dan even had dinner with us on a couple of occasions. We booked Le Pigeonnaire which is so lovely and romantic and the accommodation is over 3 floors (for our newly married son and wife) and The Grange for the rest of the group - rooms are all spacious and plenty of large bathrooms. The pool area is fantastic - the children loved it so did all adults - fantastic surronding views and lots of bike rides (bikes on site) and walks. Local delivery of bread & croissants delivered to the door everyday. The Bastide village of Prayssas which is 5 minutes drive is really worth a visit and on a Wednesday night all the locals plus any visitors eat at tables in the Square where there are stalls to purchase your dinner (We had huge steaks) and stalls that cook it for you plus plenty of wine available plus music and dancing. We visited loads of interesting small villages locally and also Agen plus a castle nearby - there is also a waterpark not far away - although Sainte Foy is in a small hamlet it is still close to loads of lovely places to visit. We have all said that we will be returning to this beautiful place and friends of ours are looking to book it for Summer 2010 as we were so enthusiastic about the whole holiday. You will not be disappointed - you do need a car though.

Wonderful holiday in St Foy

This was a last minute end of season break, which was an excellent find. The Lot and Garonne is a well kept secret, reminding us strongly of Tuscany. The location is quiet and very relaxing. In the pool every day, not bad for October! All the surrounding towns and villages are a delight. Markets, ancient buildings and of course the 2 picturesque rivers. Not to mention the easy access to the various wine growing areas. The owner Peter, could not have been more helpful. Peter and his son Dan have worked hard to make the complex comfortable and welcoming. All the properties have been restored to a high standard and the work done by the local artisans is truly stunning. A wonderful experience for us and I'm sure fpr any one who has the opportunity to go to St Foy for their holiday!

St Foy an amazing place

we had a fantastic holiday in "La Grange" we had two weeks of pure sunshine which added to our first experience of staying in a villa rather than camping. The pool and the spectacular views more than met our expectations, La Grange is perfectly equipped for every family's needs and so comfortable, we didnt miss home once! Our children who are all teenagers were not bored once they spent every waking moment in the pool and if not there we went to the high ropes activity park or the river with our kayak. Prayssas is a lovely little village full of character and very friendly locals,I would definately recomend the Wed evening market there we had a lovely time with lovely food, remember to take a plate and your own cutlery and arrive early to get a seat this is a very popular event,we ate out once at La Bastide in Prayssas this was lovely we sat outside as it was a beautiful evening, food was great and the service very good it was very reasonably priced too. This is one of the most stress free relaxing holidays we have had in a longtime. Did I say we have also re-booked for next year? Can't wait.

I spent many years travelling widely in France and especially in the Lot & Garonne region, which is simply stunning and idyllic . I bought this property as a holiday home , despite it's state of disrepair, for one reason, the location. It is simply beautiful.

The three detached properties and pool terrace are located on the top of a hill with fantastic views down the unspoilt valley, and being west facing, the sunsets are just spectacular!!
The complex is located in an extremely quiet, very small hamlet with no through road and is therefore very tranquil. The location is just perfect !
