The Nook (El Recoveco) is our rental apartment/studio nestled in the mountains of La Maroma in the beautiful whitewashed town of Canillas de Aceituno.
Canillas de Aceituno is a municipality in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is located in the east of the province and is one of the municipalities comprising the comarca of Axarquia and the judicial district of Vélez-Málaga. It is a small village, located at the foot of the "La Maroma" mountains in Spain.
Welcome to our authentic rustic cosy apartment located in the heart of Canillas de Aceituno. The Nook (El Recoveco in Spanish) is tastefully refurbished and decorated to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The property is located next to the main plaza and is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. You will love the wooden beams and the rustic decor. The Nook is the perfect place to relax and enjoy stunning walks in the mountains and enjoy the town and its charm.
1 min walk to the central plaza which consists of various supermarkets, pharmacy, bank with ATM, cafes, restaurants, bars, bakery, butchers, fishmonger and tabac. Doctors and Dentist nearby. Public swimming pool 10 minutes walking distance from The Nook open from mid June to mid September.
There is free parking in and around the Plaza and also a free multi-storey car park at the entrance of the town. There is a public bus that operates from Monday to Saturday from the centre of the main Plaza to all major towns. There is also a local taxi firm available for trips to the towns, airport runs and beaches.
The main features of our property are the King size and super size memory foam mattress, HD Flat screen TV with English and Spanish channels. Free 600mb Fibre internet.Two beautiful Juliette balconies, Aircon, heating in the bathroom, double electric hob and microwave grill, refrigerator, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities.

We chose this beautiful mountain town as we love hiking and walking and the stunning surrounding views that this area has to offer.
Coming from a building and customer service background, we purchased our Apartment in March 2023. We refurbished it to create a typical spanish rental accommodation adding some english characteristics to the property at the same time. We completed the renovations ready for opening on 11th May 2023.
We have been fortunate enough to be able to travel and work in and around Europe with an English and French camping company which involved meeting and greeting guests from all nationalities as well as preparing their accommodation to a high standard. We were also Maintenance Engineers responsible for the repair and maintenance of mobile homes on various sites throughout Europe.
