About the property

This is a BRAND NEW 3 bedroom, 2 bath waterfront stilt home located off Mason Creek, in Old Homosassa Florida, about 1-2 hrs north of Tampa.

It is situated on 1 acre of private land with approximately 200' of frontage on the creek and is adjacent to the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management area.

Plenty of room for all your toys ! You can put your boat in at the semi private ramp ( 3 minute walk ), and park your truck/trailer back at the house while docking boat at the floating dock, complete with cleaning station, fresh water shower and electric. There is a small fixed bridge between ramp and house. Any center console or pontoon boat will fit through with no problem and Bimini tops will make it through easily. Towers might not. Clearance is about 10'.

The house is fully furnished with free wifi, internet tv and home telephone. The kitchen is fully equipped with new utensils, and appliances. The washer/dryer are upstairs in laundry/pantry room. There is a covered porch that encircles the house to give you plenty of easy, cool breezes and spectacular waterfront views.

The bedrooms consist of 1 Queen size, (Master) with full bath, 1 full size, (Guest) and 1 "daybed" with an extra pull out single, (Guest). The guest bedrooms share 2nd full bath. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms living room and porches as well as Central A/C, heat (winter).

This a pet friendly home, but the limit is no more than 1 dog, (20 lbs or less) and at least 1 yr old. There will be an extra "pet" cleaning fee.

Smoking is allowed outside only, and please throw cigarette butts in appropriate receptacles.

Bring your bicycles, golf-cart, kayaks, ect., as you can access several great state hiking/biking trails down here. There are 2 kayaks and a paddle board, with USCG approved floatation devices and paddles for guest use. We ask that they are rinsed and returned to correct storage when finished using them.

From the dock it is about 10 minutes to the open Gulf of Mexico, with world class fishing, diving and scalloping. Just about a 5 minute walk away is the entrance to the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management area where, (depending on season), you can go hunting or hiking too!

Length of stay is negotiable, but would like to keep it at 3 night minimum. Weekly, monthly, or seasonal rental is acceptable.

About James and Terry Flowers

I am a retired firefighter, born and raised in West Palm Bch., Fla. My firefighting career was with the City of WPBFD and have been retired about 10 years.

As a boy, I spent quite a few summers up in Homosassa and always remembered the natural beauty of the area as well as the spectacular fishing!

My wife and I saved for many years and finally had enough to build this house. It took us 2 years of hard work and sweat to finish it up, as we did it ourselves, but we loved every minute of it.

Now its ready to be enjoyed! We hope you love it here as much as we do and hope to hear from you soon!

James and Terry Flowers purchased this house in 2015

A Special Home

  • 5 of 5

One look at this property and it’s easy to see that the owners have impeccable taste and attention to detail. This lovely, well-built home provided the perfect base for our Nature Coast, paddle-with-the-manatees, outdoor adventure. The home is equipped with everything we needed. We felt at home immediately. Thanks, Jim and Terry! We can’t wait to come back!

Best VRBO stay ever!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time and Jim and Terry outdid themselves building and decorating this home. It’s absolutely beautiful!! We enjoyed kayaking, fishing from the dock and nature walking. We rented a boat Friday morning from River Safari and shopped from the local pottery shops after. Our 3 year old loved it and caught his first fish by himself. We made so many memories and will definitely be coming back to this house :-)

Little slice of Paradise in Old Homosassa

  • 5 of 5

I'm a lifelong Citrus County resident who wanted to get away, but not really be too far from home. My kids spring break was the occasion and we were looking for a waterfront location where the kids could fish, kayak, run and have a good time. This home and its location were perfect for that. Jim & Terry were very accommodating. The home had everything we needed for the 3 nights we were there. The canal outback is very scenic and made a great spot for younger kids to paddle board and kayak without the worries of them going too far or getting out of sight. The home is decorated amazingly with all of the items needed for a comfortable stay. We brought our clothes and bought food at the Publix just up the road. It is a super convenient location to the MacRaes boat ramp, restaurants and activities in the area. If you have your own boat, there's a boat ramp just around the corner. We will definitely stay again.

Back to nature

  • 5 of 5

We loved our month long stay at thia property, with many things to do in the area or just sit and enjoy the view of the creek from the wrap around deck. You could have quiet or find some action, music, bars, and restaurants close by. A great place only one year old.

Beautiful home, great location

  • 5 of 5

Wow, this is a wonderful place to rent. We were lucky to stay here for the month of January. The owners couldn't be more accommodating. Every house should have a wrap around porch. It is a very well designed and equipped home. The dock was great for visiting with friends and viewing the wildlife. We saw many birds and otters! Having fruit trees was a nice bonus. The yard is spacious, plenty of room for parking vehicles and boats and to play outdoor games. Even though your on a quiet dead end road your near many restaurants, marinas and shops.

Enjoy your time here, we did.
