On the hillside, overlooking unspoiled countryside leading down to the Krka River, this vineyard cottage is the perfect destination for anyone who wants to escape from it all. It is ideal for a family or couple who are interested in hiking and enjoying the wonderful natural surroundings.

This stylish, first-floor apartment sleeps 3 people in comfort. The living area is furnished with a modern corner dining table, with banquettes and chairs for 6 people, next to a stylish, open-plan kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer for stress-free cooking.

A glass door leads outside to a charming shaded balcony, where there is a second dining table for meals al fresco. The balcony looks out over the valley and is an ideal place for guests to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

On the ground floor, there is a wine cellar which guests can arrange to hire with the owners on arrival.

The owners are working towards making the property more sustainable, with steps such as single-use plastic banned, recycling bins, double glazing and water-efficient toilets.

The cottage is just 15 minutes from Novo Mesto and in a region famous for its vineyards, which provide many wine-tasting opportunities. The city of Novo Mesto, on a curve of the Krka River, makes a fascinating day trip. Visitors can enjoy exploring the Medieval streets and main square. There are many activities for adventurous travelers including skydiving, rafting or canoeing, hiking and cycling. For something more relaxed, the area is known for its thermal waters and the spa town of Smarjeske Toplice is less than 10 minutes away.

The cottage is halfway between Ljubljana (50 minutes) and Zagreb (1 hour). Both capitals make fascinating day trips.

Ljubljana’s international airport is 1 hour 5 minutes away. Otherwise, Zagreb airport in Croatia is 55 minutes.
