Boston House - A great celebration house at the heart of the English Lake District.

Boston House, sleeps 15 in 7 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms. This classic Lake District house has a large kitchen, 7-seat hot tub in a private area and a 15-seat cinema in the cellar. Located close to Windermere the property is ideally placed for walking into the village with all of its cafes, restaurants and bars.

The house features a lounge with large leather Chesterfield sofas, Smart TV and a living flame gas fire. The dining room seats up to 15 guests. The large kitchen has a central island unit, a large electric range cooker, 2 dishwashers and everything you need to cook up a splendid meal for your guests. The cellar is home to our 15-seat cinema with 75 inch Smart TV. Upstairs there are 7 bedrooms, 5 are ensuite, there are 2 separate bathrooms one on each floor.

Outside there is a rear courtyard garden with a private 7-seat hot tub. At the front of the property, there is parking for up to 8 cars. There is access to a fast EV charger located on the wall of the maintenance building.

We welcome up to 4 dogs at the property. There is an additional charge per dog, which can be added at check-out.

Excellent House in an Excellent Location

We booked for a corporate meeting. Everything about our stay was seamless. Very clear communication from the owners beforehand, the owner was on site if we needed anything. The house was perfect for our needs and being so close to Windermere was a real bonus.

Fantastic Family Time

Boston house was absolutely perfect for our family holiday. Accommodation was spot on for us, our children and grandchildren and not forgetting the dogs ‍. Location was spectacular, from walking over the road and up the hill to fantastic views and walking down to harbour and getting to cruise Windermere.. our second visit and another great time had by all

Well equipped, lovely home, lots of parking!

Lovely stay over bank holiday! The house was really well equipped with everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking too, which is great for Windermere!

Family Holiday

This is the second time staying at Boston House, As always we had a fabulous time. Everything we needed was to hand. Great Location

Lovely property in a great location. It is walking distance to shops, pubs and restaurants. The property is spacious and and it is well furnished. The bedrooms are a good size. The owners were very informative and I cannot fault their communication when further information was needed. All in all we had a fab week with the family.

Fantastic property in a great location

A beautiful property, a group of 14 stayed at the property for a Hen Party. It is a great location, an easy walk into Windermere with Booths supermarket, shops, restaurants and pubs near by. The property is very well equipped, it’s decorated tastefully and feels really homely. Lots of space and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms meant no waiting to get ready. Many of our party said they would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

Another great stay!

This would have been our 4th or 5th stay at Boston House. The location is perfect couple of minutes walk to Booth supermarket for a top up shop although we did arrange a Tesco home delivery for the necessary items for our stay. Rooms are decorated well and beds are comfortable (although the shower in room 2 isn’t the best. This was reported the last time we stayed and nothing has been done to fix or change it) Living area is starting to look a little tired . Kitchen is perfect for our family group as it’s the ideal place to socialise due to the size and good use of the island . Kitchen has nearly everything you could need apart from baking/pizza trays. Considering the large group we found the wooden picnic benches not great considering there used to be good quality garden furniture previously

Fabulous stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Boston House for a hen party. We've stayed at The Terrace many times before and this time was just a fantastic. Such lovely accommodation, cosy and elegant. Amazing facilities with everything you could possibly need. The location is great for exploring the lakes and for cafe trips. Excellent all round.

A great family base for exploring Windermere and surroundings

The house is exactly what it says on the tin. The whole family enjoyed being there and we didn't even get into the cinema or play darts!! If there was one thing that would have made it better it would have been to turn the whole terrace through 180 degrees so that the afternoon and evening sun was on the back areas which were obviously more private.

Weekend break

Good house for a large family gathering, loads of parking (5 spaces) useful. Large lounge that all can fit in and sit down. Comfortable bedrooms and spacious. We had glorious weather so our only ask would have been better outdoor furniture and more out front as thats where the sun is (south facing) only 3 chairs out front, 3 more pulled in from garden but there was 11 of us.

Great house, great location

For a large family gathering, this house is perfect. It’s extremely well situated in the heart of Windermere, right by the station, the bus depot and Booths supermarket. The hot tub is a great addition. 5 of the 7 bedrooms are en-suite and 4 are doubles. There is plenty of parking so it’s very convenient for large groups. If anything, the bedding is feather so may not suit everyone, otherwise, the house is extremely well provided for, especially the kitchen and cooking facilities. We would definitely re-book.

Perfect

This was our 4th stay here. Andy & Barbara (owners) were super efficient in any queries I had from booking process etc. Boston House has everything you need for a short (or long stay). Perfect for our families , spacious, comfortable in quiet surroundings. Enough parking outside for large groups. Location is perfect for Booths supermarket and Windermere cafes, shops and restaurants. The only issue was pillows could have been comfier. Shower in room 2 needs attention (maybe a new shower head) as power was poor. Noise from floor above when showers were in use . Putting those little issues to one side though and We will definitely be back!

Outstanding for big families / groups

Perfect venue for gathering of family and friends, including family dog.

Boston House was the perfect venue for a gathering of family and friends for our big wedding anniversary. The owner and manager are very thoughtful and friendly. The location, layout of the house and facilities are excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to others.

What a fantastic place

This is the second time we have stayed at the Terrace, This time we stayed at Boston House. The houses are well equipped, the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, many of the rooms with en suite, which is always helpful when you have fourteen people. From the time of booking to leaving the property we found the owners very approachable, we arrived a little early as you can park and go for a wander and where allowed to pop some of our food into the fridge before we had access to the house which was really helpful. The Terrace is central to Windermere, and the bus and train station, making access very easy into the rest of the lakes. We would definitely book again, we had a fabulous family time.

Their vision was to create a row of celebration houses where every group was there to celebrate something even if that was just being together. 16 years later The Terrace hosts gatherings of all types every week.
