Great location. Owner excellent communication. Was visiting for a conference so basically just slept there. Downstairs especially kitchen well appointed and more than adequate was provided. Bring your own coffee if you’re a coffee snob. Lighting in second bedroom wasn’t great. There were 2 of us and with doors closed between the bedrooms I could not hear my roommate and she snores. Overall very good experience and would recommend.

Overall everything was great, and we felt like it was a good value for the money. The location was great, the place was clean and had everything we needed (and more!). The host was very responsive to any questions and very friendly in her responses. Just a couple things I did not prefer... the fluorescent lighting throughout, though there were other lighting options, and there was an air freshener smell, though we could not find a source. These are fairly minor details for most people but I'm sensitive to fragrances so needed to open a window.

Thanks for your review, Dana. FYI we do not use any fragrances or air fresheners. As a parent of a highly-allergic child, I am very understanding of others' sensitivities. Yes, indeed, the reason there are many lighting options is because some people - like myself - don't tolerate fluorescents very well. The property is well-lit without needing to use them.

Weekend Trip

The property is great with a fantastic location very close to a wide variation of restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The layout of the property, especially the bedrooms is a little quirky, but it worked out great for a short weekend guys trip. Laura was great and communicated everything clearly about the stay.

Great for a small family

Laura provided a bunch of baby extras for our stay with an infant that made our lives so much easier. The place was nice, clean and cozy - not to mention walkable to the baseball stadium and most of our other destinations.

A Charlotte resident for nearly 2 decades and a world traveler for much longer, I thoroughly enjoy hosting travelers from around the world and I try very hard to offer an exceptional experience: the comfort and convenience of a "real" home enhanced by the thoughtful amenities that one usually only finds in 5-star hotels. It's what I want when I travel, and I'm privileged to be in a position to provide it to others.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Your home away from home is equal parts prestige hotel and residence inn. From Uptown's entertainments to rafting at the US National Whitewater Center, from family-friendly restaurants to pubs and fine dining, from walks in Uptown's many parks to hip clubs, Charlotte has something for everyone.

この宿泊施設の特徴

This is Charlotte's best location and The Guest House's furnishings and amenities mean you will wish for nothing during your stay. From luxury linens and robes/slippers to personal care products, from snacks to beverages/mixers, and everything in between, The Guest House has been described by previous guests as a "quirky gem" in Charlotte's charmingly historic Fourth Ward.

This is the only property in Uptown Charlotte that can comfortably fit up to 8 people - each having their own bed or air mattress - and everything you need for infants and toddlers if little ones are traveling with you.

A bit of trivia: The Showtime series Homeland filmed in this neighborhood for 3 years (you might recognize the brick townhomes across the street) and in fact Claire Danes filmed a scene in the great room of the main house!
