Chalet with private pool overlooking meadow and woodland

Situated in a small and quiet hamlet in the north of the Dordogne area, this modern wooden chalet has been stylishly fitted out and furnished by the current owner, who lives in the house nearby.
Sleeping up to four people, in two bedrooms, a cot and high chair are also available if required.

Please note: for the months of July and August, reservations are made weekly (Saturday to Saturday).

The chalet has its own private swimming pool surrounded by a large terrace, ideal for al fresco dining. A range of garden furniture and deck chairs with a barbecue are available. Steps lead from the terrace to a small children's play area, washing line and outdoor area. From the garden, you will have access to a large private meadow which leads towards the woods.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. The living room offers a comfortable sofa, a TV with DVD player, and free WiFi.

The small hamlet is surrounded by forest and this is where you are likely to see deer or wild boar as they tend to emerge from the woodland very early in the morning or in the evening twilight. Chickens and ducks in a separate garden area are all securely contained in their respective enclosures, and prove to be of great interest to younger guests.

In the heart of the Dordogne, the small village of Vaunac is located just 10 minutes by car from the town of Thiviers, where you will find all the department stores as well as several restaurants and a cinema.
In the center of the village of Vaunac there is the renowned restaurant : La Sobronade.
The village of Négrondes, just a few minutes by car or bike, offers a bakery as well as a few restaurants.

An ideal location to discover the pleasures of the Périgord region!

The Périgord region offers quality tourist attractions: castles, caves, picturesque villages, water park, canoeing, golfing, hiking, horse riding... You can explore the neighboring towns and villages, such as Limoges, Périgueux, Brantôme, Saint-Jean-de-Côle and the martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane, all less than an hour's drive.

Stunning

This has been our 5th holiday here, (which speaks volumes) and we've enjoyed yet another fabulous fortnight, but this time instead of staying in Les Vignes we thought we'd try Le Chalet for a change. The views of the fields and woods across the decking and pool area are stunning, and really have the wow factor. We've been busy spotting (and photographing) all the wildlife that reside there, it's a twitchers/nature lovers paradise. We've been really lucky again with the weather, it's been hot and sunny for the two weeks and we've been grateful for the pool to keep cool. The Chalet has been beautifully fitted out , very well equipped, with everything you could wish for - everything is top quality, from the bedding and thick fluffy towels to the kitchen equipment, and the generous welcome pack is the best we've ever had, the wine was particularly welcome after the long journey. There are fantastic places to visit in the area, Brantome market is a favourite. There are plenty of leaflets and suggestions in the Chalet and Cath is always in hand to give advice, but for us, this place is so peaceful, it's our chill out holiday. The quiet tranquillity of this place with the abundance of wildlife right on the doorstep totally captivates us, it's our idea of heaven - our chill out and recharge holiday and we love it!

A lovely chalet in a very peaceful area

We spent a lovely week in Cath's chalet. It was very comfortable and almost a home from home. We were very grateful for the generous welcome pack as we had been travelling all day and arrived quite late. Very thoughtful of Cath. She is a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble. We bought binoculars as we had read in the reviews that you could watch the deer in the nearby fields and we weren't dissappointed. We had many sightings of them. The area is lovely but you do need a car to travel to places. We would recommend Brantome and the canoeing there, St Jean de Cole, beautiful village, and Perigeuex. We went to the restuarant down the road in the village for lunch that was recommended in the reviews and it is amazing value but you do need to be hungry as the portions very generous! We hope to one day.

Les vacances parfaites.

Nous avons passé 2 semaines inoubliables dans cette location parfaite dans laquelle il ne manque absolument rien. Le chalet est très propre, fonctionnel et climatisé. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et disponibles, le calme et la nature sont au rendez-vous et la région est sublime. L’accueil dans le chalet est simplement incroyable. La piscine privative est ce que l'on peut rêver de mieux pour des vacances idéales. Un grand merci à Cath pour sa gentillesse son accueil et sa confiture. Nous y retournerons avec un immense plaisir.

Parfait

Difficile de donner une impression puisque tout était parfait. Propriétaire accueillante (malgré notre arrivée trop tôt), discrète, donnant des conseils et s'inquiètant de notre bien être. Châlet très agréable, propre. Tout y est. La vue, la piscine, la terrasse, le linge de maison, ...tout, je vous écris. La situation est aussi très agréable. Joli coin, sans être super/trop touristique. Quelques villes à ne pas manquer, évidemment (St Jean de Cole, Brantome,..). Kayak à proximité. Je recommande chaleureusement et remercie encore notre hôtesse parfaite.

Très bien, court séjour, mais Cath la propriétaire est toujours aussi accueillante. Gîtes parfait.

Nous étions là pour 3 nuits, mais tout était bien. Tout confort, très bien chauffé, malgré les -3 degrés enregistré la nuit. Cela fait 2 fois que nous louons chez Cath en hiver. Nous allons peut-être essayer l'été prochain.

Sehr schöne, gut gelegene Unterkunft

Wir haben einige sehr schöne Tage in dem Chalet von Cath verbracht. Wir waren zu zweit mit Baby unterwegs und haben die Ferienwohnung sehr kurzfristig gebucht. Die Abwicklung und Kommunikation war unkompliziert und problemlos. Cath hat uns netterweise auch ein Babybett hergerichtet, obwohl wir vergessen hatten danach zu fragen. Das Ferienhaus liegt idyllisch am Waldrand und freistehend. Es ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und super ausgestattet, vor allem die Küche. Gefallen hat uns auch das wir bei der Ankunft Verpflegung für den ersten Abend und den nächsten Morgen von Cath bekamen, besonders erwähnenswert die selbstgemachte Pâté. Alles in allem lässt sich sagen: eine sehr nette und unkomplizierte Gastgeberin und eine hervorragende, empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

Lovely chalet in beautiful location with a fabulous host

We stayed for 6 days in Cath's chalet. It is undoubtedly the best equipped place we have stayed (and we have stayed in many!) as well as being spotlessly clean. Cath provided a very generous and thoughtful welcome pack of groceries to help us settle in and there was no shortage of cleaning products, condiments etc, which just made everything much easier. We had some lovely cycle rides in the area, exploring nearby attractions (caves at Villar, the town of Thiviers, St Jean de Cole etc). We hired bikes from Dordogne Cycles, who delivered and collected, along with helmets and locks - perfect! Views from the chalet are lovely, with wild deer appearing on a regular basis. Very relaxing and peaceful days and stunning starry skies at night as we were well away from light pollution. Would definitely recommend this place. Huge thanks to Cath for her help and hospitality. She is both professional and friendly and really made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Fantastic first holiday with our baby

We stayed in the chalet, a very comfortable and equipped holiday home. Couldn't really ask for anything better really, the place has everything including a great host in Cath. Very highly recommended, we shall be returning!

A tranquil get away in the beautiful Dordogne

We spent two tranquil, sunny weeks in Le Chalet. Greeted with a generous welcome pack and spotless accommodation we knew we were in for a totally relaxing holiday. The village and setting are beautiful with surrounding woodland to explore. The facilities at Le Chalet are super. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool, relaxing evenings barbecuing as well as visits in the local area. Cath was a great host - there when needed for advice but also leaving us to relax and recharge. Cath ensured everything is clean and refreshes linen and towels each week. Cath made a prompt return of the security deposit after leaving the accommodation in the same high standard of cleanliness we found it in. We will definitely be visiting again.

SECOND VISIT, BOOKED AGAIN FOR 2018 !!

Absolutely amazing yet again, so good we are booking again for 2018 !!! This was our second stay here, Cath as always was always on hand should you need her, mixed weather this time but we still managed to use the pool most days, it was amazing just chilling out on the decking watching the wildlife, having a drink of wine and the occasional dip in the pool. This year we were luck enough to see the stags on our last night, all 5 of them at the bottom of the garden!!! Roll on 2018.

A lovely, well equipped chalet in a great location

We had a lovely relaxing week here with our two children. The chalet is very well equipped with all modern conveniences. The wood and red decor is homely and the beds are comfortable. The children loved the pool and running around the big garden - especially feeding the geese. The local bread van coming twice a week was fun. The location of the chalet is great for exploring the area - the velorail and snail farm were a big hit with the kids and we also enjoyed Brantome and Perigueux. The local restaurant - a pleasant walk away through the woods - was very good...and great value for lunch. The welcome pack and local advice given by Cath were great and much appreciated - Many thanks for our most relaxing holiday since having children.

Beautiful

We stayed here with our 2 children for 2 weeks, and had a lovely, most relaxing holiday. It is much more remote that we expected - in a beautiful area - so it so very peaceful. the house was fantastic.... everything you could think of, that you could possibly need, was there. every detail was thought of and provided. the welcome pack is amazing... and it was great not to have to worry about finding a shop nearby as soon as you arrive. the garden is gated at the side of the house, so i felt it was safe for the kids to keep away from pool. the garden was fantastic...it was huge for the kids to play and they loved the swings. Cath was a lovely host and we had a very relaxing peaceful holiday. thanks again x

Wonderful holiday in glorious countryside setting

This is a truly exceptional facility. Cath has thought of absolutely everything and all has been done to the highest standards. Very clean, very well equipped, every mod con available. Cath is a welcoming host, for whom nothing is too much trouble, including getting out of bed and coming to find us on our night of arrival when we were seriously lost! A food pack is provided so that you have all you need until you can get to the shops. It is peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. Who could ask for anything more? We will be back next year!

Perfect for relaxing and watching wildlife.

You could not ask for more from this splendidly equipped accommodation. The rural setting is ideal for quiet relaxation with great views of surrounding countryside and local wildlife on your doorstep! The decking and pool are an added bonus. The owner discreetly ensures you are comfortable and helps with local knowledge. There are many interesting places to visit in the surrounding countryside. the perfect chalet

This has got to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. Cath has thought of everything and the welcome pack is just what you need after a day traveling. If you want peace and time to relax with the option of good day trips out this is the place to be. The Chalet is so beautiful and the pool great to cool down in after a lazy day, plus the wildlife is lovely to watch. When we were there there were no nasty bugs either, a bite free holiday! perfect retreat

We arrived at 9.30pm after a long day traveling. Directions were spot on. Cath met us and told us about local area, plus the welcome pack is one of the best we have ever had, she thought of everything we might need until we were able to shop. This has to be one of the best places we have stayed, all your home comforts but with all the peace and quite you could want. From the large decking you can watch the deer in the evening or chill out in the pool. My daughter loved feeding the geese and chickens with left over bread and veg. There are lovely towns to visit in the area but we only did one full day away as the chalet was so relaxing. We hope to return sometime to recharge our batteries. Thanks Cath.

A perfect, relaxing hideaway

Le Chalet has everything, comfy beds, lots of space and lots of local treats in the fridge and cupboards. The chalet is immaculate and tastefully designed, with loads of room indoors and outside to relax in the shade, in the sun or by the pool with everything you need to hand. The secluded environment was delight we particularly loved watching the deer grazing in the field from the deck. The pool was a treat, lovely and clean and for June the weather was amazing and so the air-con was extremely welcome. Cath was a fabulous host making sure we had everything we needed, offering advice and information on where to go and where to eat. All in all this was just a perfect, quiet place to stay and I can't recommend it highly enough.
