A ride on the Kirklees Light Railway offers stunning views of the Dearne Valley and there’s the National Mining Museum, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Holmfirth, the backdrop to the TV series Last of The Summer Wine. There’s also Cannon Hall, the Hepworth Gallery, the Royal Armouries and the grand stately home of Wentworth Castle all easily accessible.
