Barnfield "Molly's Haven" is a beautiful barn conversion set within the Devon countryside; spacious, and perfect for families and friends to stay and enjoy this lovely part of the country.

Only a short drive from the A38 means easy access to Plymouth with the Lido, Plymouth Hoe and the Mayflower Steps, the Theatre Royal and the National Marine Aquarium. Travel to the beautiful beaches of the South Hams, the Dartmoor National Park and beyond. The Eden project provides a fantastic family day out. Barnfield is close to the many wedding venues nearby, including Boringdon Hall and the Gaia Spa (Please contact us if you are getting married in the area)

Finished to a high standard, Barnfield is one of 3 properties on site (the owners live in the farmhouse). On walking up the gravel path through the front door into the hallway, off which there is a lounge, snug, utility room, WC, shower and stairs.

The lounge has a smart TV and plenty of comfortable seating. The snug also has a smart TV and is an ideal space for working or playing games.

The large, well-equipped kitchen is accessed via 3 steps, with a range cooker, combination microwave, dishwasher, large fridge (with small freezer above) large table and patio doors opening onto the patio, where there is a fire pit with BBQ grill.

Slate flooring throughout the downstairs. Please bring your slippers.

Upstairs is light and airy. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and en-suite shower room, Bedroom 2 has a double bed, and Bedroom 3 has twin beds.

There is plenty of car parking and fast fibre broadband. We have a travel cot (please bring own bedding) and high chair, please request on booking.

Maximum occupancy 6, plus 1 infant in the travel cot provided.

The site is in a rural area, and next to Dartmoor Zoo, so you can expect to hear the odd tractor, animals, or maybe the roar of a lion! For this reason we are sorry but we cannot allow pets.

Walk down the track in to the village of Sparkwell, Have a drink or meal at Welbeck Manor. Maybe play a round of golf at nearby Elfordleigh or Boringdon golf clubs.

Lovely property. Particularly good for welbeck Manor (walkable) and zoo events.The welcome was lovely and the property itself was clean, modern, and well kept throughout. The kitchen was filled with all utensils and cooking needs.Would happily stay again.

Molly's Haven is amazing! Such a beautiful home in stunning surroundings. We've had such a lovely peaceful week, the property is so well equipped with plenty of room of a large family of teenagers and adults. We visited the zoo, aquarium and took a boat ride in Plymouth. We ate out a few nights and relaxed with a take out for a another few.

This property was absolutely amazing for our family of five. Great space for children to rest and relax as well as for adults. I've never been to a place that's so well equipped in terms of kitchen utensils cutlery, plates etc. It was also incredibly clean and well maintained. Amazing views and local scenery within walking distance. The host was absolutely fantastic and was on hand for anything that we needed. I would highly recommend this property to anybody but particularly for families with children.

Barnfield Dream

From the moment we arrived to our departure (16 days), this property and the hosts were the best we have ever experienced (and we have traveled a lot). Cannot recommend this enough. The location is idyllic, the property is of the highest standard and the hosts were perfect.

Best rental we’ve stayed in

My family and I live all across the UK so we rent a property for gatherings 2-3 times per year. Molly's Haven is undoubtedly the cleanest (immaculate doesn’t even cover it), comfiest, most well-stocked and beautiful property yet (and we’ve stayed in tons). Di and Robin and such warm and accommodating hosts and Molly’s Haven is a beautifully finished conversion, extremely tastefully done from the modern heating to three showers to the fancy electronic blinds in the master bedroom. They’ve thought of absolutely everything, including plenty of towels and hangers in the bedrooms, and having a kitchen so well-stocked with equipment and crockery it put our own to shame. You’ll want for absolutely nothing here, especially with the like-new range cooker and appliances. We absolutely loved the homemade cream tea that was put on for us (I think it lasted approx. 10 mins with the ultimate speed 6 of us devoured it!), the cuddly toys on the bookcase for my little niece and the beautifully planted front garden to sit out in. Sadly there was an issue in the local area that impacted the water supply (nothing to do with Barnfield) but Di and Robin went above and beyond with their consideration, kindness, and making sure our stay was barely impacted which I mention just to demonstrate what fantastic hosts they are. Thank you both!

We have lived here for over 30 years and started the conversion of Barnfield in 2016. It is a wonderful location and we look forward to sharing it with you and making your stay as lovely as possible.
We strive to keep the property immaculate and provide freshly laundered bedding, bath sheets, hand towels for your use. A cream tea on arrival.

We are situated at the end of a private track, but can walk to the village. At only a 5 minute drive to the A38 it is very easy to travel to Plymouth, Exeter, Dartmoor, the beautiful beaches of the South Hams and beyond.

Completed in September 2023 you will be staying in a relatively new property which still exudes character with its furnishings, farmhouse kitchen, log burner and stand alone bath. Feeling homely it also has modern touches such as triple glazed windows and patio doors, rain head showers and infrared heating, all for added comfort.
