The Lafferty's retreat
San Matteo Lafferty\' retreat is located a few steps from one of the two main entrances to the city of San Gimignano.
Owned by a well-known family in the area, the house is a mix of color and modernity with an international feel and lots of character. Originally part of the private home of a famous Scottish opera singer and her husband, it was later sold to their children, now well-known gin producers in Scotland.
The house is developed on one floor. From the entrance you find on the left a first bathroom, fully equipped with a shower, and the large hallway makes a collector for the whole house. On the right you walk into the modern, fully equipped kitchen, with dining table. The next room is the living room, with a large sofa, satellite TV, and lots and lots of gin bottles! Of course, they are empty and are there to keep guests intrigued as they can buy the famous gin directly from the owner to enjoy a cocktail on the terrace, at sunset.
The door right in front of the entrance, is the studio, an ideal location for smart work or homework for the little ones. For the very little ones, on the other hand, some games and storybooks in English and Italian are waiting for them.
Finally on the left is access to the two rooms. The first is a room with two single beds, very comfortable for two kids or two adults used to sleeping separately. The room has two large windows, a closet and dresser. The second room, is a double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom with shower.
Complete the property, a large terrace with table, chairs and umbrella. Perfect for enjoying a good gin aperitif or an al fresco meal.
The house is equipped with a central air-conditioning system. The temperature is set in advance to ensure a pleasant stay (within the limits of the regional law for which the temperature cannot be set below 21 degrees), but it cannot be changed independently by the guests.
If temperature changes are required, the staff will be happy to make the change as quickly as possible.
