You can’t beat this location! With beautiful views across the bay, a huge living room window to watch all the boating activity, and a short walk to the ferry terminal, you are in the heart of it all. When you walk through the door you step back in time to visiting your Granny, in a cozy way. But the flat is a little tired, with a speedy update that isn’t quite complete. We did a lovely walk to Ganavan Sands, I would recommend.
Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed the flat. As others have commented, the decor is a bit dated but the flat is very large and the layout is good with the bedrooms being down the hall from common areas. The location truly can't be beat and is a short walk from long-term (paid) parking at Corran Halls and also walkable to Dunollie Castle and close to everything in town. Cons: Our check-in was not smooth but this was not the fault of the owner or property manager. When we arrived there was another family in the flat already and so obviously a lot of chaos and confusion ensued. I was able to reach the owner directly by phone who confirmed that I was the only reservation. We eventually figured out that the other family had rented flat number 3, NOT flat number 1, which was two doors down and owned by someone else. They had arrived as the cleaners were finishing up and the cleaners let them in, so kind of a big whoopsie. It all worked out in the end but created unnecessary stress. The mattress on the bed in the main bedroom is quite lumpy and so soft that it dips in the middle. We have two young kids and was told that a crib could not be provided, so we had to bring our own. We had to do a LOT of child proofing as there is a lot of breakable decor (glass shelves, glass coffee table, lots of figurines etc). Pros: location truly can't be beat, spacious, good layout, and well appointed kitchen. My kids loved sitting at the big window and waving to passers by :)
