Villa Zafira, a beautiful villa with private pool and 10 minutes walk to town

Villa Zafira is located in Ortaalan, Kalkan, just below the D400. A ten minute walk takes you down to the town where you will find shops bars and restaurants. Another five minutes,will take you down to the harbour and town beach.

The villa has three bedrooms, three ensuites and a downstairs cloakroom. A large sun terrace with a salt water pool.

Arriving at the villa, make your way through the gate to the front door. This opens out into the main ground floor room. Here you will find the fully fitted kitchen, with large fridge freezer, oven, hob a microwave and even an air fryer should you care to cook. There is also a dish washer. The comfy lounge is filled with light from the floor to ceiling windows, includes a smart television, dining table and chairs and enough seating to accommodate everyone. There is a cloakroom with W.C and hand basin and another small room housing the washing machine.

A winding staircase leads to the first floor. Here there is a twin bedded room with wardrobe, ensuite shower room and door leading out to the balcony which has two chairs and a table to enjoy the sea view.

The next bedroom has a double bed, wardrobes with a lockable safe and an ensuite shower room. Doors lead out to the half moon balcony complete with table and chairs.

Another winding staircase takes you up to the third bedroom.

Here you have an ensuite with W.C and hand basin. A walk in shower is within the bedroom. There are cupboard units along one wall and a lockable safe. The door opens out onto a very large, half moon balcony.Two sun beds and a large seating area and table allow you to use this area to full advantage. With a sea view, and panoramic views of Kisla, Kalkan and the mountains you will be glad you chose Villa Zafira for your Kalkan holiday.

The large outdoor gardens and pool terrace are complete with sun beds and brollies and the terrace gets full sun all day. The salt water pool is approx five meters by seven meters. A gazebo covered area with table and chairs allows for al fresco dining. There is also a stone BBQ and table tennis table. A double egg chair and plenty of other seating means everyone will be able to find their favourite place to chill.

Lovely Villa

Stayed at the villa in September 2022, everything was as advertised. The communication with Sheila was first rate and she even helped to arrange the airport transfers which saved a lot of trouble. The maintenance and cleaning team were very professional. There were a couple of restaurants close by that saved a lot of walking up and down into Kalkan although we had just about got used to the hill up to the property by the end of our 2 weeks. In summary, we loved the villa and would not hessitate to book again.

Lovely villa!

We had a very nice and comfortable stay at Villa Zafira. When we arrived late at night there was a welcome pack with food essentials and the Villa was lovely and clean. The roof terrace off the top bedroom had a beautiful view and we were so impressed. The photo's had looked good but in reality it was even nicer. A man came and cleaned the pool each morning and the layout of the outside space was lovely with very nice sun loungers and a well needed pretty shady section. There is a bit of background noise from the main road into Kalkan from behind the villa but you soon get used to it. There is a small supermarket just down the road called BIM which was very handy and we had a few evenings where we had a bbq. Although a 15-20 minute walk to the Old Town and Harbour, we would occasionally get a taxi down in the heat which was 15-20 Lire. The walk home is quite steep so we built up some good muscle power! Our first trip to wonderful Kalkan with boat trips, canoeing and little local adventures was extremely special. Additionally, the communication from Sheila, the owner was fantastic so I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a stay here. Many of our friends now want to visit after seeing our photos!

We had an excellent holiday

Rooms and bathrooms were nice. Nice, large sitting room and kitchen/dining room. The whole family loved the pool which was cleaned daily. Nearby to supermarkets, lovely family restaurants and the Harbour. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Villa!

My wife and I stayed at Villa Zafira for 10 days in early July. The structure of the villa - 3 floors with overhanging balconies - not only looks great (very art deco classical) but gives some great opportunities for both shady and sunny areas. As the sun moves round the pool throughought the day, there's always a number of spots where one can take a break from it. The interior is roomy, classy and, again due to the design, not always as hot as one would think due to lots and lots of french windows which when opened give a beautiful through-breeze. When there's no breeze, the air-conditioning is extremely effective, and available in every room. The 3 bathrooms (especially the main 2) are very nice and well-appointed - We loved the jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom and the huge shower enclosure in the second bedroom. The ground floor cloakroom is a great bonus. We didn't do any actual cooking in the kitchen but it was well stocked with cutlery, crockety and utensils. The large fridge-freezer is great and keeps things nice and cold! The outside dining and sitting area is absolutely delightful and shaded by fragrant plants. The pool is lovely and just the right size for us. The pool area is only slightly overlooked by adjacent properties. Not entirely private but felt quiet and safe. It must be said that the villa is right next to the main Fethiye/Kas road and for the first few days the sound of the traffic did bother us, but we did start to get used to it and think that if we'd been there with a large family then it wouldn't have been so noticeable. There is a steep road down to the town, but as others have said, taxis are readily available and very cheap. We tended to walk down and cab back! The location of the villa means that it is more likely to benefit from lovely breezes from the hills, especially in the evenings, so we were glad we were so high up and could also benefit from the fab views from the top terrace. We had airport transfers arranged for us by the owner, and the maintenance/cleaning team were efficient, friendly and professional (an issue with the internet was fixed very quickly). Overall we loved this villa, would consider going back and would not hesitate to recommend it as a spacious, well-appointed and well designed property.

Villa Zafira

Superb Villa, Everything we were looking for and more...Location was perfect as close enough for walkable restaurants and supermarkets, Taxi`s are plentiful and reasonable for the journey into town although we hired a rental car. Villa is modern and spacious with open plan living for families, with 3 good sized bedrooms and safe balconies for teenagers. Pool area is great with good sized, warm pool and lovely seating area, with sea views all around. Sun is on the terrace from 8am till 6pm before falling behind the mountains, Heaven. The pool is cleaned daily. If its your 1st visit to kalkan, like us, please give it a try as very cosmopolitan and brilliant for families with young or grown up kids alike. Enjoy your stay and look no further than this Villa as you won`t be disappointed. Personally I don`t think the photos give it justice. Thank you Sheila.

Villa Zafira

The villa was as expected and the covered area was lovely when it was too hot. The pool is the same level making it safer for children. Well stocked for all needs. Aircon in each room and balconies on all bedrooms. The maintenance company were very attentive making sure that all was as it should be. We had a fabulous time. The villa sits at the top of a steep unmade road (might be plans to change this). This is not a problem as the taxis are so cheap costs about £2 each way for 6 of us, which does not break the bank. Most places in Kalkan are accessible for a very small taxi cost. All the restuarants in Kalkan are lovely and 6 of us never had a bad meal and its fun trying as many as you can. I am sure we will return to Kalkan and depending on numbers may choose to go back to Villa Zafira

Impressive and relaxing

Excellent and relaxing stay. Property was beautiful,with a mature garden with plenty of shade from the midday sun. The pool and property was well maintained, the local staff very helpful and friendly. Owner organised all the airport transfers and car hire. Lots of nearby ancient sites nearby, like Patara with it's fantastic beach and ruins . Lots of good restaurants in Kalkan, such as Korsan, Chillies and Fenner at the harbour entrance.

Very nice villa with good facilities including air con in all rooms and a small pool. Close enough to Kalkan to walk in although taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. Our first visit to the area but very impressed lots of good restaurants and plenty to do on trips etc. Highly recommended

Wonderful stay at Villa Zafira

Arrived at the villa late evening to be greeted by a delightful welcome pack including wine! The rooms were excellent and the showers worked a treat. The kitchen was well laid out and the pool area was where we spent most of our time, especially using the pool to exercise twice a day and to cool down from the heat. Kalkan is an amazing collection of varied restaurants all of whom are trying for your trade and are by and large of an incredibly high standard. Our favourite was Korzan Fish terrace and a trip to Islamlar is also worth the trip info the hills. It was a wonderful holiday, combining a fabulous villa, amazing hot days without a cloud in the sky and an evening treat of restaurants and bars to help you relax and forget everything apart from enjoying yourselves!

Fantastic villa. Bright spacious and clean

Had a great time here and people could not be friendlier or more helpful. Well equipped and 5 minute taxi ride from town centre. (approx 5 euros). Town fantastic with many many restaurants to choose from. Hope to go again next year with friends.

lovely villa

nice clean villa. located just below the main road which by passes kalkan so can be a little noisy. I reckon a 20 min walk to the pedestrian part of kalkan (downhill) but slow with a 6 year old. an energetic walk back up or a taxi for about £4 does the trick. kalkan is fantastic, but becoming more expensive. very helpful owner. overall recommended.

It was the first time we have booked a villa and we certainly will again. We were picked up from the airport in what could only be described as a luxury taxi were taken to Villa Zafira. On arrival we were thrilled and certainly not disappointed as the villa lived up to all out expectations and beyond. It is spacious, clean and well equipped and plenty of towels. Outside was perfect, the pool was amazing, a good size and cleaned daily, nice comfortable sun beds ( however only 4 so a family of 6 may struggle), the covered area provided comfortable seating which in the heat of the day was great to relax and read. The villa is located at the top of a very steep hill so we walked into the town and got a taxi back easy to pick up at the supermarket or near the harbour. Kalkan is beautiful and has a huge variety of restaurants which we enjoyed in the evenings, the people we met were great, very helpful and friendly. We would recommend the boat trips available from the harbour and a trip to Patara Beach is a great day out. All in all a fabulous holiday, great villa and great location.

Villa Zafira

What a fabulous villa! We had a wonderful time relaxing in the comfortable rooms and enjoying our trips to see amazing sites. Sitting by the pool and lots of swimming was essential to continue the relaxing theme. Gentle strolls into town to eat excellent food at the plethora of restaurants in Kalkan. It seemed more fun to join the hubbub of life there than eat in the villa, even though the facilities are excellent. Comfortable beds, clean and we'll cared for you couldn't wish for a better location in which to enjoy Turkey!

We had a wonderful holiday in Kalkan, enhanced by the lovely Villa Zafira. Three spacious bedrooms, all ensuite, plenty of space downstairs and a very well-equiped kitchen if you wished to prepare your own food. Great outside pool, well maintained on a daily basis by the gardener, who also looked after thepretty garden. Excellent seating space around the pool and a large eating area outside as well. Supermarket within easy walking distance and an easy downhill walk into town; and the taxi service back up was inexpensive. I would definitely recommend villa Zafira for anybody interested in visiting Kalkan away from the hustle and bustle of being too near the main town.

My name is Ridvan Zeybek, the owner of Villa Zafira but most English speakers call me Rudi. I am from Kalkan live in Islamlar village which is 15 minutes from town, with my wife and daughter.

Kalkan is an elegant harbour town set in the heart of the old Lycian region. It is relatively cosmopolitan with wonderful restaurants and great places to stay. The Taurus mountains provide a stunning backdrop whilst the views across the bay are remarkable.
This beautiful and sophisticated bougainvillea covered harbour town is set in a breathtaking landscape in the heart of the Turquoise coast.
Tourism is still relatively new in Kalkan with the first visitors being yachtsmen who discovered the delights of the harbor and the town in the late 1980's.
Strict conservation laws have ensured that the heart of the old village retains and authentic ambience that attracts ( according to the Sunday Times ) the sort of visitor who might also be enchanted by say Tuscany or the Dordogne. The result is a discerning mix of predominantly British guests tegother with Istanbul Turks attracted by Kalkan's reputation within Turkey.
