Quietly situated on a sunny hillside, this characterful holiday escape is the ideal base to explore western Slovenia. The property is situated on the first floor and is one of several apartments in a restored building. Guests can enjoy the shared gardens, terraces with outside seating areas that occupy the surrounding area.

Inside, the studio still enjoys the original, exposed stone walls and is furnished with twin joinable beds, a wardrobe, a flatscreen HDTV, a dining table and a small kitchen. The kitchen is fitted with; a cooker hob, a microwave, a coffee machine and a fridge.

Location

The property is located in western Slovenia in the pedestrianised Old Town of Štanjel. This medieval village is known for its rich history, striking architecture and beautiful surrounding landscapes. The most prominent landmark, a 15th-century castle is situated across the street from the apartment and has been restored to house a museum, an art gallery and a cultural centre.

The nearby Karst region is famous for its wine production and visitors can tour local wineries and enjoy wine-tasting sessions. Nearby wineries include; Vina Sanabor, Fedora Natural Wine Estate and SANTEI Organic Wines - all a 10-minute drive from the accommodation. The closest restaurant is a 1-minute walk from the accommodation and there is a supermarket an 8-minute drive away.

Popular nearby excursions include a trip to the Lipica Stud Farm, the birthplace of the famous Lipizzaner horses (a 25-minute drive away) or a day out in the Vipava Valley (a 20-minute drive). Known for its scenic beauty and excellent vineyards this is a great place for wine tasting, cycling and exploring the countryside.
