Acerca de este alojamiento
Castlehaw View - Sedbergh Town Centre
Situated in the centre of Sedbergh Village, less than a 5-minute walk to the shops and pubs, is Castlehaw View, a Grade II listed mid-terrace property that has been beautifully refurbished to provide comfortable and stylish accommodation for your self-catering getaway.
The property takes its name from Castlehaw Tower, a small, well-preserved motte and bailey castle that sits in the field opposite the property and offers lovely views of the Yorkshire Dales on clear days.
The property spans three floors, starting with the ground floor, comprising the cosy living room with a wall-mounted Freeview TV and the gas log-burner-effect fireplace. Across the central corridor, to the rear of the property, is the lovely kitchen with modern appliances and a dining table that can be extended to accommodate four guests. The rear door from the kitchen leads to a small outdoor area with seating.
The first floor is the first of the two double bedrooms, and the spacious bathroom has a roll-top bath and a gorgeous walk-in shower. On the second floor is the second bedroom with an adjoining dressing/reading room, a lovely tranquil space, with views of the Howgills if you need to do some work or perhaps read a book.
Officially in the Western Dales or the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Sedbergh Village is also on the edge of the Lake District National Park, making it an ideal base for walkers looking to explore the many trails, including the nearby Howgills. The Village is best known for Sedbergh School, which dates back to 1525, but also as England's official "Book Town" with many booksellers nearby.
The village also benefits from a great selection of local shops, including a greengrocer, a traditional sweetshop, a chemist and more. Still, for more general shopping, the local Spar Shop is well stocked. There is also a good choice of pubs serving great food, and the Farfield Mill hosts numerous events throughout the year.
We recommend Castlehaw View for families or friends looking for a base from which to explore the Lakes and Dales. However, please note that the property isn't best suited for infants due to the stairs.
