Architect designed Danish-style, fully equipped spacious ground floor flat with a range of facilities & amenities.
Located on the cusp of Axat's old & new town with essential shops, pharmacy, bar, restaurants, free parking, EV charging, cinema, recycling & cash point all nearby.
Fly fishing & tourist train/vélorail. swimming a short walk, whitewater rafting, canoeing, skiing & canyoning a short drive away, Carcassonne, Andorra and Mediterranean beaches close by.

The space
The apartment is almost all on one level, located on the ground floor of Axat's former leading hotel in a building first constructed about 1800. The property was converted into three flats / apartments in the 1990s.
The generous main living area includes dining space, a fully equipped kitchen, workspace with fast fibre internet and a lounge area with TV to which you can attach your own smart device for those very rare occasions when the weather keeps you in.
Two sizeable bedrooms offer space for five although the fifth bed is folded as a chair when not in use.
The shower room / toilet also houses the washing machine and hot water tank, and there are various useful items available - BBQ, parasol with stand, garden chairs, garden bench etc.
Those with limited mobility should note that the shower room is up two stone steps without a handrail.
Please note, on the subject of essentials, we supply bed-linen, soap and toilet paper, but not towels, shower gel or shampoo, hence the reason it is not included on the long list.
Guest access
A key safe under the covered part of the patio provides access through the french doors leading to the main living area.
Please note that standard wheelchairs will not quite pass through the entrance gate.
The old hotel's original front door remains in place for authenticity only and is not normally used, although can be opened if you wish to increase light levels in the living room. See sample photos in the listing with it both open and closed.
Other things to note
I welcome suggestions aimed at improving the service offered.
A wide range of tourist information leaflets is available in the living room along with a small selection of music CDs, DVDs, books, playing cards and games.
If you wish to come to Axat for fly fishing you must go to Central Bar in the main road four doors from the Post Office to obtain a permit.
The apartment has an Orange smart box for French domestic TV. In line with VRBO guidance we wish to inform you that the owner does not collect any data from the box relating to your viewing.
There is EV charging 100 metres away in the public car park, (not available during the Thursday morning market).
