1 Argyle Place is a three-storey town house overlooking the heart of Dornoch and only a 2 minute walk from the Royal Dornoch Gold Courses first tee. This fully furnished house offers an open-plan living area, kitchen and dining are on the top floor with 3 spacious bathrooms and a large garage for storage on the floors below. 1 Argyle Place also has 3 bathrooms, a spacious garage for storage, and its own designated parking spot to the rear of the property.

For golf lovers, staying at 1 Argyle Place will mean that you are only a 2-minute walk from the comfort of your bed to the first tee at the Royal Dornoch. The Royal Dornoch is known for its Championship Course which offers a magnificent challenge featuring stunning coastal vistas, however, the lesser-known Struie Course is also a must-play throughout your stay. Playing a round of golf here not only hones your skills but also provides a chance to embrace the natural splendour that defines Dornoch.

1 Argyle Place is located at the centre of Dornoch making it the ideal place for someone to stay if using the public bus or private hire taxis upon arrival or departure as the Stagecoach bus stops is no more than a 30 second walk from the front door. The property is also very well lit at night due to the surrounding street lights.

1 Argyle Place does have an allocated parking spot to the rear of the property which is marked with the number 1. If you are bringing more than 1 car for your stay, please note that parking is limited and used by the public. Parking in other numbered parking spots belonging to neighbouring properties is strictly prohibited.

1 Argyle Place offers a beautifully designed open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area on the second floor, overlooking the town square and Dornoch Cathedral. Relax in the living area, which includes a Freeview TV and comfortable seating for up to seven guests. The dining table seats six and can also serve as a convenient workspace for remote work, with nearby plug sockets and reliable Wi-Fi ensuring both productivity and comfort.

The fully equipped kitchen includes all essential amenities for preparing homemade meals, so you’ll have everything you need during your stay.

This property features three spacious bedrooms across the ground and first floors. The ground floor hosts a twin room with two single beds and an en-suite shower room. Upstairs on the first floor, you'll find a cosy single bedroom with a queen-sized (small double) bed, as well as the master bedroom, which boasts a king-sized bed and en-suite shower room. Additionally, there’s a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and underfloor heating for added comfort.

For parking, there is one designated spot at the rear of the property, along with several free car parks nearby.

With Dornoch’s charming shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance, you’ll have everything you need at your doorstep. The renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Course and the beautiful beach are just a few minutes away, perfect for world-class golfing and scenic coastal strolls.

When travelling to 1 Argyle Place, we highly recommend researching your public transport routes or ensuring that guests have access to a car.

Unfortunately, Dornoch does not have access to apps such as Lyft or Uber, and our only modes of public transport are Bus (Stagecoach) and the occasional private hire Taxi company.

Dornoch does not have a train station (Scotrail), and the nearest station is in Tain.

1 Argyle Place, Dornoch

Overall, the property was okay. The location was excellent — centrally located in town with easy access to the golf course. The layout worked well for a townhouse, and the garage was a bonus, offering convenient storage for golf clubs. However, there were a few downsides. The level of external noise, particularly from people leaving the nearby pub and general street activity, was quite disruptive and kept both us and our children awake. Unfortunately, this noise affected both sides of the property. We also found the mattress in the main bedroom uncomfortable, which impacted our sleep. Upgrading the existing PVC windows in the bedrooms to triple glazing would likely resolve much of the noise issue and greatly improve the overall comfort of the property. The addition of blackout blinds in the bedrooms would also be a welcome improvement.

The house was so comfortable to stay in and in such a perfect location in the square. We arrived in time for the pipe band playing on Saturday night!

Argyle Place, Dornoch

Katherine, I'm assuming this review goes to you. I loved the property we stayed in, it was a great location, the bedrooms were nice, and we loved the top floor lounge. You were very nice when we spoke on the phone. However, I found the pre-checkin and post-checkin emailed instructions to have a punitive tone. I have stayed at properties all over the world and would always take care of a property I was a guest at. You may have other guests who are not so careful! Never-the-less, I found it worrying to be warned of arriving early or checking out late, and penalties that would accrue, and strict instruction about leaving the property a certain way, which didn't feel very good, and were frankly worrying - they seemed to imply that penalties would be assessed if we didn't follow your strict instructions. I've never experienced that anywhere else I have stayed, and I didn't like it. Perhaps there is a way to get the point across without seeming to threaten the guest? We paid a lot of money to stay at the property, it was not free. I did not think we should be made to take out the trash when we have paid for a cleaning service. We came for a relaxing trip. I found the way I was treated worrying, not relaxing.
