Overview

About the property

Studio with kitchenette (NO STOVE). Great rates. Convenient. THINK EASTER!

Come join us. Spring and Summer on Kauai. Tired of shoveling snow in April. Sure hope it doesn't go into May. Sounds like a good time to come and see us. Maybe someone you know is getting married here this summer. This is a great location and an even better price to join in the celebration

They say, "location, location, location." And is this a great location or what? The corner of Ka Haku Road and Wyllie Road. Easy to find, easy to get in and out, and close to everything in Princeville. If you are coming to the north shore to see things, this is the place to start from.

And no matter how you spend your days, whether hiking the many trails, playing a round of golf at one of the exceptional courses, or perhaps just a day at the beach with a good book, come back to Hale Loli'i and relax.

Or perhaps you want to try out one of the many great restaurants on the island. And at this great rate, you can afford to eat out. Maybe even have dessert. You are on vacation after all, and we won't tell.

Hale Loli'i means house of relaxation. We chose this name for a reason, and we set it up to allow you to do just that. Perhaps the most important thing you will do at night is pay attention to tomorrow's weather.

What is the weather like during fall on Kauai? Daytime highs near 80, and nightime lows in the 60's. How is that for just about perfect? Who knows, you may not want to leave. But even if you have to go, you are always welcome back.

Check our discounted rate from now through the end of November if you book for a week or more. We want you to feel at home and be able to relax and enjoy this magnificent island and all it has to offer. Contact us to see how we can meet your needs.

If location is important, look no further. When you turn into Princeville, Paniolo is the first condo. Easy walking to shopping, parks, library, and a quick car ride to golf, tennis, fine restaurants, and beaches galore. The hard part will be leaving.

Perfect for a couple, or a couple of friends, with brand new queen size bed.

The spectacular beauty of Kauai's North Shore surrounds you at Hale Loli'i. Whether you walk or drive, you are just minutes from fabulous beaches, great golf, hiking, horse back riding, or whatever else your imagination can come up with. And at the end of the day, come back to a home away from home.

This second floor walk-up unit has a sleeping area separated by a room divider, a dining area, and a living room area.

You don't have to set an alarm here, as there are plenty of birds and perhaps even chickens to get you up and going. Make breakfast in the well appointed kitchenette or if you want, walk over to the Princeville Center and find coffee and pastries at several local eateries, or stock up at the full service grocery store. Then decide what is in store for the day. Hopefully you won't try and do too much though. Remember, this is vacation.

Perhaps it is a sight-seeing day. Turn left out the driveway, and you are a couple of minutes from the main highway. Take a right and go up to the end of the road. Or a left will take you back east and then south to see the rest of the island. These can be difficult decisions, but whichever way you go, you will not be disappointed. The beauty is island-wide.

If you go right, it is ten miles until the end of the road. And a total of ten single lane bridges to navigate. A word on them later. If you go all the way to the end, you will arrive at Ke'e Beach. For me at least, this is perhaps one of the most peaceful and mesmerizing places on earth. If you walk back up the beach about five hundred yards, you will have a view of the Na Pali Cliffs over the water, with mist rising from the ocean caught by the rising sun. Be careful. You may never want to leave.

And between Hale Loli'i and Ke'e Beach, you will pass through Hanalei, and go by some of the great beaches of the world. You may want to save Hanalei until later in your trip as the shops there will give you plenty of souvenir options.

Or, if you got a sunburn yesterday from a little too long at the beach, maybe you head east and south. You can stop in Kilauea and see the lighthouse, Na Aina Kai botanical Gardens, or the Guava Kai Plantation.

A half hour drive down Kuhio Highway brings you to Old Kapa'a Town. More beaches, restaurants, and shops. Check out our guide book for suggestions.

Further down the road brings Waipouli, Wailua, Lihue, and on to the south shore and Poipu Beach, west to Waimea Canyon and if you are adventurous up to Polihale State Park.

At the end of the day, you can either eat in - perhaps take something down to the poolside grill - even prepare simple meals utilizing the two burner hot plate and full size microwave oven - eat in the dining area that accommodates two comfortably. Or, if you are too tired to cook yourself, perhaps you will want to go out and enjoy any of the great restaurants nearby.

Later you can put your feet up in a comfortable recliner or stretch out on an equally comfy couch, and enjoy a wide assortment of channels on the HD television, or pick something from Netflix Maybe rent a movie and put it in the blu-ray player. High speed internet is available to check your emails, surf the web, or stream your favorite music. There are board games & cards as well - for the occasional "liquid sunshine" times. Just remember, keep the work to a minimum. That will be waiting for you when you get back.

The sleeping area, which is separated by a room divider, has a new queen size mattress. Closet and drawer space permit you to unpack. But hope you didn't bring a lot of clothing with you. Shorts and a top will get you into anywhere on the island. Hopefully you won't have to worry about laundry, but if necessary there are several commercial locations in Kapaa and Lihue.

The kitchenette has a refrigerator, two burner hot plate and microwave oven. There is also a coffee maker, teapot, toaster, and blender as well as plenty of dishes and eating utensils. Last but not least, a separate counter-top ice maker is provided for those frosty tropical libations. And we have stocked in many of the typical spices you will need to prepare your favorite vacation meals.

ENJOY.

About Mike & Leslie Luttig

We had been coming to paradise for over twenty years and decided that this is where we wanted to retire. We moved here from Wisconsin in 2015. And now we want to help other visitors come and enjoy this beautiful island and all it has to offer.

Our first trip to the islands was in 1989. At the time, I had just turned forty, was a bit frustrated with my career, and not necessarily looking forward to the next twenty-five years. The rest of the family had gone on a pontoon boat tour of Napali Coast and I decided to take a walk. I had never been to Ke'e Beach. It was a two plus mile walk, and during the time it took me to walk there, we had a couple of mauka showers. I was a bit damp when I arrived at the beach. And while you would never know it today, I think I was the only person on the beach. I walked about two hundred yards back down the beach and turned around, and there were the cliffs with sun shining on them through mist blown off of the ocean.

The view was perhaps the most spectacular thing I had ever seen. I sat down on the beach and just stared at the cliffs for a long time, lost in thought. It was then that I decided that I did not have to spend the rest of my life doing something that did not make me happy.

By the time we returned to the mainland, I had already decided that I was going to go back to school and go a different direction. I have never looked back.

Over the years, we have returned to the island many times, dreaming that maybe someday we would be able to spend more time here. And then by chance, we had an opportunity we could not refuse and when we retired in 2015, were able to move here permanently. This mesmerizing, life changing beautiful island is now our home.

And now, I hope that somewhere out there, someone who is in a similar place that I was in 1989, might come here and experience what I did.

This is a well appointed accommodation, clean, spacious and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed from April 4th to 9th and while we had 3 days of rain, it didn't stop us from exploring the area. A small Mall of eclectic stores, a grocery store and gas station were close at hand. We had the opportunity to utilize the poolside BBQ's and cook some delicious steak. The 2-burner hot-plate worked well for cooking breakfast each morning, and for side dishes to dinner.

It is an upper level unit, so there are stairs if that is an issue for you. With a vaulted ceiling, good floorplan, large bathroom, a large closet to store the suitcases, and a comfortable Queen-sized bed, we had a great stay in this unit. The owners were available if needed, and quick to respond to queries.

Mahalo Mike & Leslie for a great stay !

Outstanding!!

  • 5 of 5

The owners go WAY out of their way to make their place welcoming! They always answer inquiries and questions incredibly fast. And they thought of every detail in equipping and furnishing their place; from the boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach towels, to the welcome basket of chips and goodies on arrival. Great location! Great condo! Great owners! When we return to Princeville, we WILL be repeat customers!

Owner's Response: Aloha Dave: Thank you so much. We love hearing that we met your expectations and maybe even a little more. Our goal is for you to relax and enjoy, and not spend a lot of time running around getting the things that would be available at home, but who wants to fill your suitcase. And we absolutely can't wait for you to come back. You are always welcome. And we do know that regardless of how often you come, there will always be something here that you haven't seen yet. Nice place for a small price

  • 5 of 5

The studio is nicely decorated with new bathroom counter and a kitchen shelving area. It has all that you would need for basic cooking and also plenty of extras. A baskets of snacks and island treats, 2 sets of snorkel gear, cooler, boogie boards, sun umbrella, 2 rain umbrella which we did use. The location is great, the walls of the studio are a bit thin so you may hear a bit from the units next door but usually people try to observe the quiet hours. Mike and Leslie are very gracious and helpful if you have any needs. For the price we paid this was a steal!

Owner's Response: Aloha Sarah: And thank you so much for the kind words. Our mission is to provide a relaxing well situated place on north shore to explore the island and still let you keep your piggybank. and we don't want you running around getting all those things you are used to having at home but didn't want to fill up your suitcase. That room is to take souvenirs back to family and friends. It sounds like you had a good time though. The walls are not sound proof, but we are pretty strict on quiet time, so hopefully it wasn't too bad. Weather permitting, we want everyone out and about during the day, either making sure nobody steals the beach sand, or exploring the many things there are to see and do. But, last but not least, we hope that in the back of your mind at least, you are thinking about coming back. We would love to have you as guests again. Mahalo, Leslie & Mike

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Mike and Leslie really have thought of everything! Anything you could possibly need is available to you at this rental: umbrellas, snorkel/beach gear, beach towels, hair dryer, stocked kitchenette, even a great Kauai guide book! It was these--and so many more--thoughtful items that really helped our stay here feel like home. It was the perfect size for the two of us. We really appreciated having our very own reserved parking spot, as parking can get quite tight in some of these condo-plex areas. The rental unit was clean, organized, and comfortable. We loved the Hawaiian décor. The only thing to note is that the condo is just off the main road to Princeville, so traffic noise can be heard at times, but this can of course be remedied by closing the balcony door. This is a wonderful place to stay so near to all the sights on the North side of Kauai. You would be hard-pressed to find a more thoughtfully managed VRBO on Kauai--or anywhere! Thank you, Mike and Leslie. :)

Owner's Response: Aloha Stephanie: Thank you for your kind words. They are most appreciated. Our goal is to provide a convenient place for our guests to be able to explore the beautiful north shore, and be able to come back in the evening to a relaxing "at home" experience. And we want you spending your time having fun, not shopping for the little things that you would just have at home. If we missed something, please let us know so we can get it on the list. Yes, there is some mostly daytime traffic, but hopefully you are out and about, and when they roll up the sidewalks at night, you are good to go until the first chickens in the morning. We loved having you, and our final wish is that you have started planning your next trip to paradise. And when you get here, we hope you will consider Hale Loli'i for your stay. Mahalo, Leslie & Mike

Owner's Response: Aloha Kassie and Josh: They say location is important and we agree. If you want to spend your time taking in the beauty of the north shore why not stay in the middle of it. You were great guests and we hope you are arleady thinking about coming back. And when you do hopefully you will come and stay with us. Mahalo Leslie & Mike
