About this property

Catskills Farm House with swimming hole

Our house is up on a hill surrounded by 180 acres of meadows, woods, and paved trails. It was built in the early 1900s and renovated in the 80s. There is a spring water fed small man made lake about a 3 minute walk from the house. We have four bedrooms and five beds, two bathrooms with tubs/showers in each, a washer dryer and large kitchen fully equipped to cook in with a dishwasher. There’s a living room downstairs with a working fireplace and a living room upstairs with a new in tune upright piano, a korg electric piano, acoustic guitar, and large krk speakers you can plug into. There’s a kayak near the swimming hole and a river near the back of the house. There’s a small apple orchard behind the house and many paved trails all through the surrounding forests. There are plenty of hikes on the property as well as beautiful hikes to drive to. We recommend checking out the peekamoose blue hole and water fall, driving up to Woodstock for music and food, and stopping by the pheonecia diner. We’re also close to kaaterskill falls and the city south fallsberg and the mohonk mountain house hotel. You’ll see wild flowers, blueberry and strawberries, and fireflies, deer, maybe a woodchuck or owl, red foxes and porcupines, black bear, tons of frogs and salamanders, crickets at night and breathe in clean air, and see a sky full of stars. We are a little elevated so it isn't as hot, but we have lots of fans (about two in each room), and we have heat for winter. We're about 40 minutes from Woodstock which is fun to drive to. Spring and summer are perfect for swimming, snowy winters are great for sledding and cross country skiing, and there’s no better place to see fall foliage. Bed breakdown - One queen in the master. One queen and one single in the other big bedroom. One double in another bed room. One double in downstairs bedroom.
Thank you! We have tons of other local recs feel free to message with any questions!

Relaxing stay

This is such a great farm house! Quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature. Property is clean and well maintained with most useful amenities. Such comfortable beds and amazing bedding. Host is welcoming and friendly. Will be looking to book it in the future.

Remote escape

The house is large and very beautiful with historic features and charm, overlooking rolling hills. There are very serene pastures surrounding it with charming stone walls. We even saw somewild turkeys on the fields while we were there :). It’s very remote and secluded so you have to make sure you have provisions and gas before you go. The host explained that beforehand and was very responsive. There are no curtains anywhere, which you don’t need for privacy but be prepared to be up at the crack of dawn. The kitchen is well stocked but very dated. We felt like we had to wash all dishes we used because they seemed dusty but no big issues overall.
