The area around the resort is very quiet. The check in staff is very helpful before and during your stay. In addition to the onsite restaurant and bar, there are several within a ten minute walk. I would recommend renting a car to sight-see as pubic transportation is not too close. This place is definitely family-friendly with an indoor pool and outdoor play structures. You can rent bikes right onsite. There's also a laundry onsite that uses credit cards. The house we rented was nice and had enough space for the two of us although there is another bedroom with bunk beds if you have kids. The key thing I didn't learn until the last minute before leaving for our trip was that bath and kitchen towels are not included in the rental fee but you can pay an additional fee for them. There's also a higher package that includes the towels along with having the beds already made for you and toiletries place in the bath and kitchen. We did have an issue with small ants along the living room/kitchen wall. The staff gave us an additional box of ant traps and that did help some.
