The views, hot tub on the deck are the only attractive things to this house. But other than that everything else about the house is pretty old. The kitchen is not well stocked. The cooking pans and utensils looked very old with scratches and loose handles. I think they need to replaced with new ones. There are only basic cooking essentials in the kitchen like oil and salt. Other than that spices looked way too old and better to be thrown away. There were 2-3 coffee powders, but there was no sugar to use with coffee. The house looked clean, but they could pay more attention to smaller things like cleaning the cobwebs near the windows and the topside glasses on the outside of the house.I felt there could have been more lights in the house, like especially in the night. Bathroom had essentials like hair wash, conditioner and body wash. I expected to see some body lotion, but there were none.

With no neighbors in sight (unless you're really looking for them), it's a nice quiet spot for a getwaway. Would book again.

Relaxing redwood retreat

Overall I enjoyed my weekend stay and would book this property again! The floor to ceiling bay window with the redwood view was stunning, especially paired with the cushioned seating right underneath it. I also loved the patio and the hot tub! Nice quality hot tub towels were included. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishwater’s, utensils, etc. The location is very peaceful. You could only hear the rustling trees, birds and the ocean. Some minor improvements: the bedroom with the twin beds could use side tables. I found TV trays in the closet to use for this purpose. One of the kitchen burners wasn’t working and the bathroom sink drained slowly if a lot of water in the sink, but all very minor call outs to an otherwise great stay!

Pretty and private yet house needs help

The best thing about this house is the privacy it offers. Other than that the house has issues that need to be addressed. I’m sure the homeowners and management are well aware of these things. Why it continually gets rented and these things not addressed is beyond me. Hopefully it happens because it really is a lovely location for peace, quiet, and privacy.

Gorgeous views but needs TLC

The views are amazing and location is close to groceries, shops, etc. We would go back for the views alone. However, there were some really gross dirty dishes (some with chunks of old food) in the cabinets, kitchen was not very well stocked and there were some spongy boards on the deck by the hot tub. Rustic cabin is great but the kitchen cleanliness issue was pretty offputting.

Don’t do it

Very musty and smelly. Everything in this place smells. All of our clothes and everything we brought with us absorbed the musty smell. Cooked steak dinner there and the musty aftertaste was terrible. Went out to dinner at a nice restaurant and felt so bad dining at the restaurant as I could smell the mustiness on our clothes and on our bodies, if we could smell this then I know the other patrons at the restaurant could smell it too. Felt so dirty and so embarrassed. Won’t ever return there, we were so excited about this vacation get away only to be completely disappointed.

Great Getaway

We loved our time here! It was the perfect amount of cozy and romantic. The house was clean, and the hot tub and fireplace were a wonderful accessory to make our stay so great.

Redwood House delivers again

This was my 4th stay at this property and, as usual, it was the exact remedy to my stress. First of all, the quiet of the area is arresting. The only sounds were the birds chirping and the sea lions barking against the background of waves crashing. So incredibly peaceful. Everything worked as expected. Check in was simple. Property was well maintained, although there are some spongy planks on the deck near the hot tub. The hot tub is a high point of this property. Kicking back at night and listening to the ocean and the aforementioned sea lions is a sensory experience not to be missed.

Great stay in the coastal redwoods

Wonderful and cozy place, perfect for a quiet and intimate getaway. Would definitely recommend to any couple looking for a quiet getaway with a vintage feel. The Thai spot down the road is great and it’s a short and fun drive to Gualala or Point Arena. 10/10!

Property was amazing, Service was mixed

Things didn't start well when I showed up to the Vacasa office, opened the lock box and there was no key or welcome packet for my stay. It was dark, cold, no bathroom, and I didn't have cell signal so it added a lot of unnecessary stress. Luckily once I got hold of the staff, they were able to provide instructions to get in. The property was beautiful and the location was perfect. It was in the forest but you had a glimpse of the ocean. Waking up in the morning, the huge glass windows provided a stunning view of the surrounding trees. There were other minor inconveniences. The front left burner of the stove did not work. The filter for fan above the stove was filled with so much oil that it would drip below when you cooked. The bbq grill ignition didn't work. The shower door would not stay closed. Despite all that, I would go back. It was a soul-nourishing getaway that offered the perfect mix of seclusion and proximity to supplies/civilization.

Disappointed

Having stayed in lovely place prior with Vacasa, this was an extreme disappointment. I appreciate Vacasa's quick response and professionalism. Yet, they do not own or truly manage these homes. That being said, every experience is varied unfortunately. There was not a dishwasher On site so guests had to wash by hand. Some may clean better than others. The cleaning ladies should double check that everything is thoroughly clean before any guest checks in. Here is what what I sent to Vacasa when they ask one to rate the check in Experience & cleanliness of the house:It is more a 3 &1/2 when reviewed in the day light Just greasy plates & glasses, cobwebs on light fixtures & stairwell, black mold (?) in between the tiles in the shower, shower door does not close properly & so floor is wet & only a tiny bath mat to use. Only 1 tissue was in the tissue box & no more to be found. Floor boards & trim are dusty Outdoor entry light bulb is out, inside the stove is grubby Cute place besides all of this It just needs allot of TLC to make it better.

Fun, rustic getaway

Great location - a quiet getaway with an ocean view through the redwoods! The kitchen was very well-stocked and the BBQ worked great. Loved the hot tub. Based on other reviews & photos, we were expecting a bit of a "rustic" experience, and that was totally fine with us! We came prepared on a cooler rainy weekend with extra warm blankets (an electric blanket in fact!). The gas fireplace heats up the entire house pretty well. My only reason for a 4-star rating is due to the bathroom faucet & shower door that both should really be replaced.

Great view from the hot tub, but...

Pro's, Clean, quiet, private. Beautiful view. Cons, Couches , beds, coffee maker, shower kinda suck. No microwave cookware. Fireplace didn't work. Bed is super hard, couches are horrible. Worst 5 night's sleep ever!. But nice view..

Gorgeous!

You are completely surrounded by beautiful redwoods. In the very center of your line of vision are more redwoods and then the ocean and sky. Can’t say enough about the floor to ceiling windows. The deck. Sitting in the hot tub after a long hike. The long red reading spot next to the window. The other stuff was fine - kitchen, bathroom, bedroom/loft. But the main attraction here is the view. Enjoy!

Nightmare

No working heaters, no working T.V., smallest shower ever 2'x2', uncomfortable small and sagging bed, even lights were not all working. What a waste of time and money. Very BAD!!

Gorgeous

What an amazing house. The windows are absolutely mesmerizing. I felt so very relaxed and slept great in the quiet, peaceful, redwoods. Beach is very close and it's gorgeous and secluded. I hope to be back.
