We spontaneously bought this beautiful 185 year old wooden lightship just over two years ago. We walked into the ship and fell in love with the beautiful wooden floors and the original beams you can see in the bedroom. So we bought it on a whim.
It has been a labour of love to get this ship shipshape, but it has been worth it and we are excited to share the ship and wonderful views with our guests.

Why they chose this property

Rochester is known for its connections to Charles Dickens, and there are nods to this everywhere in the town. We even have a Dickens Festival, typically held in early December, alongside the magical Christmas Market in Rochester Castle grounds.
London is only a short 40-min train ride away, taking you into Victoria or St Pancras International station.

What makes this property unique

This Lightship is one of the last remaining wooden Lightships in the UK, dating back to 1839. If you stay in our Captain's Cabin, you will be able to see the original Burmese teak used in construction.
