For an unforgettable Alaskan experience, we invite you to stay in our beautifully hand crafted log cabin. Built on the banks of the scenic Chena River, Riverbend Log Cabins offers a peaceful and secluded 3 ½ acre setting that is centrally located between historical Fairbanks and North Pole Alaska. The rustic elegance of the Chinook Cabin is enhanced by the beautiful river view and surrounding boreal forest. Trees have been cleared in front of the cabin to provide an unobstructed view of Northern Lights. Abundant wildlife – moose, eagles, beaver, waterfowl are often seen from the cabin. Moose frequently visit the property – both during the summer and winter months.
The Chinook Cabin features lovely, comfortable furnishings and beautiful artwork. An outdoor log steam sauna provides a perfect way to relax after a long day. For enjoying the outdoors the Chinook cabin features a cobblestone patio with a gas propane grill, a log picnic table, a small lower deck with a handcrafted log bench, and a larger second story balcony with table and chairs.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove and oven, microwave, dishes, cutlery, toaster and coffee maker, refrigerator and everything needed for meal preparation. The cabin is stocked with complementary Alaska blend gourmet coffee and condiments.
The Chinook Cabin has two upstairs bedrooms each with a queen sized bed. Both beds have new mattresses that are fitted with 100% high thread count cotton sheets, soft blankets and comforters. The bedrooms have one adjoining wall that can be closed with a wood folding door. Each bedroom has a separate entrance. The larger bedroom has French doors that lead to an upstairs balcony with beautiful river and northern lights views.
There is a downstairs bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower and a half bath upstairs.
In addition to our Chinook cabin, Riverbend offers the Sourdough cabin. The Sourdough features an upstairs bedroom, a downstairs full bath with shower and a fully equipped kitchen. Why Debi Hanson chose Fairbanks
We both had a lifelong dream of building a log home. When we found this property, we 'just knew' it was the perfect land to start the process of fulfilling our dream. The combination of the serene riverfront location, the surrounding boreal forest, wildlife, wild berries and flowers gives the feeling of being in a sacred, special place. We made the decision in 2006 to build additional cabins so that we could share our dream with others. We thoroughly enjoy the wide variety of guests that stay in the cabins. We love sharing information and stories about our Alaskan lifestyle and hearing about the lives and travels of our guests.

Cozy cottage in a winter wonderland
Very comfortable accommodations! Far enough out of town to feel out of the city but close enough to easily get into restaurants/shops. Comfortable beds, nice assortment of pots & pans, good WiFi. Would definitely stay here again!
A beautiful log cabin to call home over Christmas!
My boyfriend and I had such a lovely stay at the cosy Riverbend Chinook Log Cabin over the past Christmas! Surrounded by boreal forest along the Chena River, the cabin was especially rustic and beautiful to come home to each night I was in North Pole, AK.
Built by Debi and Bruce, the attention to detail is impeccable – from the welcome basket of Christmas goodies (think cinnamon chocolates and peppermint tea) to Christmas-themed decorations around the cabin (a decorative Christmas tree above the fireplace, and even a cute reindeer night-light in the bathroom!) – it’s impossible not to feel the Yuletide spirit through their hospitality.
And Debi was such a sweetheart when she contacted us to make sure we were fine when we took a road trip along the Dalton Highway to Deadhorse after our stay at Riverbend - we really appreciate her looking out for us.
Oh, and we were lucky to have had two brilliant nights of Aurora Borealis display right outside our cabin. What a treat!
Thank you, Debi and Bruce, for the lovely stay we had! We are missing the Chinook log cabin and North Pole so much! :)
Comfortable, Clean & Cozy
Great location, super nice owners, and very comfortable. Unfortunately they can't control the weather, so our aurora viewing was limited at best. Regardless we had a great week in Alaska. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property for your next Fairbanks visit.
Our visit and trip to Riverbend Cabin was perfect!
Our stay at Riverbend Cabins was exceptional! Our guests Debi and Bruce were outstanding hosts; they did not mind answering questions and helping us with any and everything we needed to know. Their cabin is AMAZING, we hope to be able to go there again in the Spring. Accommodations are extremely clean and very well maintained. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone including friends or relatives!!! Enjoy your stay, it is a beautiful piece of property tucked away from the noise and lights of Fairbanks.
Terrific Alaska Experience
Our goal was to experience the Northern Lights along with winter in Alaska. The unusually snowy weather added to the winter theme, and the location had us close to snow machine opportunities, dog sled rides, ice fishing, and Chena Hot Springs to name a few.
The cabin itself was great-terrific views from the balcony, toasty warm, two bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Its proximity to the river gave us fairly easy access even with the heavy snowfall. One night a moose bedded down against the cabin, and except for the tracks, we were clueless. It was well stocked and offered videos and TV for the times travels was iffy.
Debi and Bruce were wonderful hosts. Their offers to provide a needed item or to pick it up when in town was greatly appreciated. Assistance with Northern Light viewing was helpful, and the warming fire was a huge help. We left feeling we'd made two new friends.
I have no qualms in recommending this cabin to others.
Better than the pictures. Gorgeous landscaping and flowers everywhere.
Quiet. Actually a pretty good location (use the Fairbanks map they provide and it will be easy to navigate Fairbanks).Everything you need to cook whatever you want. It was a little buggy but you are probably gonna get that near any river in the area. And you are a minute walk from the river. The upstairs is cool and it is nice to have 1.5 bathrooms.
There are hundreds of little things that make it very very homey and relaxing. A great place to rent if you are actually going to hang out there (versus just sleep)..
Northern Lights viewing. Seasonal Grayling and King Salmon Fishing. Please link to our website for a list of many nearby activites and attractions.
