HANIM - luxe 3BR apt Sea & Old Port view
Welcome to a special apartment inside a historic old monastery in Chania. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 8 people. The place has been fully renovated, combining modern style with the charm of the old stone building. From the private rooftop terrace and the big windows in the living room, youâll enjoy amazing views of the sea and the Old Port. Itâs perfect for families or friends who want a comfortable and unforgettable stay.
The history behind our walls : The Palazzo dei Miracoli (Monastery of Santa Maria dei Miracoli) is a striking Venetian-era convent originally founded in 1615 by MarussaâŻMengano for Dominican nuns atop Kastelli hill in Chania. It once included a church and enclosed courtyard with adjacent nunâs cells, typical of Western monastic architecture. Much of the complex was destroyed during the 1941 bombings, but today you can still see remnants of the southern and eastern church walls, parts of the cloister, and sections of the upper-floor cells. Its ruins are thoughtfully integrated into the historic old townscape, standing as a quiet link to Chaniaâs layered past.
