Our stay at this cottage was as advertised and promised. We enjoyed the two night stay at this cottage. Only issue our group had was the smell of the well water, which was partially overcome by bottled water provided.
Clean with a great view of lake.
Hot tub was a great way to relax after exploring the area.
Comfortable stay on Little Portage Lake
Clean, tidy, and comfortable. Flexible with arrival time. Water had a very strong sulfur odor. May want to bring bottled water for drinking if you are sensitive to the smell.
Thanks for the review. We do have a lot of Hydrogen Sulfide in our well water and softener will not get out all the odor. It doesn't phase some people like me who grew up with well water. Others, however are really bothered by it. I give each party a case of bottled drinking water.
Cozy and clean
My husband and 3 year old daughter had so much fun. If you like fishing then this is the place for you. Every cast caught a fish right off of the dock.
Thanks so much for the nice words! I love it when kids catch fish. We hope you can join us again some time!
Excellent clean accommodations with all amenities you could need or use. Owner was more than willing to make adjustments due to my work schedule change at the last minute & take care of anything else needed immediately. The location & additional features like hot tub, boat docking, proximity to anything you could want in the area within minutes is a true plus!. I have to say it's the first time I ever took a nice short boat ride over to the next lake to pick up pizza & beer at a dockside location for the family... that was another positive advantage of this location. Oh, and the fishing was pretty good in the chain of lakes, but I had just as much fun pulling some nice fat bluegills right out of the channel off the end of the dock right in front of the place. Don't hesitate & don't second guess... you will thoroughly enjoy your stay..make sure to share it with friends, family &/or another couple, it's well worth it
Wow! Thanks! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you can make a return visit. You really nailed the appeal of this little Gem.
Adorable cottage with stunning view
This is a cute little cottage with a beautiful view. Has everything you could possibly want and need. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and look forward to coming back next summer.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you next year!
Map location is incorrect. Cottage is at South West corner of the Bridge between Portage and Little Portage, on Little Portage Lake. Property is close to Stinchfield Woods, Beautiful U-M property open to day hiking. Hudson Mills Metropark is 2.2 miles south for running, Disc Golf, hiking , biking or Rollerblading. Golf Course is another few miles south. Close to the Potowahtomie Trail, a famous Mountain Bike Trail. State Land is all around, open for hunting in season. Fishing on the Huron Chain of Lakes, of which Little Portage is southernmost is fantastic. Little Portage is noted for panfish, Largemouth and Northern Pike. Several excellent golf courses are a short drive away, The village of Pinckney is a few miles to the North. It has a grocery, several fast food joints, a diner, several decent dining establishments and a bar or two. The village of Hell is about the same distance to the west. It is a biker mecca and has a great bar-restaurant with entertainment. You can spend a day cruising up the chain of Lakes and have the best pizza (and a lot more) at Zukey Lake Tavern.
