Loved this place
The cabin was everything that we were looking for. It was clean and nice. We will definitely be back soon. It is well stocked with everything that you need. The property manager was awesome and sent us step by step directions.
This property exceeded mine and my families expectations. Super clean, well taken care of, and we loved the location. My 3 year old & 10 month old had plenty of room to run and play inside the cabin and loved the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. The hot tub was perfectly located on the back porch in a screened in area, which we loved. Beds were very comfy was provided plenty of towels and wash clothes for our stay! For us the location was perfect. Away from the madness of downtown but close enough when we did go out it didn’t take us but maybe 10 minutes to get to all the attractions and restaurants. Very quite and peaceful at night and beautiful views in the morning. Overall I would rate this cabin 5 out of 5 stars and will defiantly stay here again!
This is a beautiful place to stay. Wasn’t to far from town when we needed to go pick up food. We had a great time.
The cabin is set in the quiet of the hills, and even though there is a neighbor across the street and down the hill, it remained a peaceful escape from the busyness of city living. The kitchen was fully stocked with the basic equipment needed for food preparation. I communicated with the property manager at various times before and after our stay, and they were wonderful to work with. I would stay at one of their properties again.
Warning: We were fortunate to stay there during a warm winter spell. If there is any possibility for snow or ice during your stay, a 4WD vehicle with chains would be necessary and is posted at the main entrance to this particular stretch of cabins.
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. I just want to clarify about the four wheel drive. We have 4 cabins all with 1/4 mile of each other in the same subdivision. There have been a total of 5 nights in 6 years that ive had to give refunds because people couldn’t get to the cabin. While there is a sign as you enter the Bluff Mountain area it really applies to cabins at much higher elevations (ours are not). We drive a Toyota Prius up year round, the days that it has been an issue, even the parkway and county roads in pigeon forge were closed. Our subdivision (and the Hidden Mountain resort which is on Bluff Mountain) do a great job of plowing and salting the roads as quickly as possible after a snow. And again, as I have said in other reviews, follow the directions I send, not your GPS.
Christmas week trip
We have stayed in the area several times. This was not our favorite cabin experience. The rustic cabin is small and clean with wooden doors and floors. It is tucked in the woods atop a mountain so views are limited. High grade on narrow roads going up and down to get there. Wildlife evident in the area and some flash flooding occurred on the road to the cabin due to heavy rains. About 15 minutes of travel time from the Pigeon Forge parkway, off of Wears Valley Road.
The fireplace was a nice touch and heated the space quickly. Nice seating area in the living room.
Kitchen has plenty of utensils but lacked a good quality skillet. The dining table was large enough for 6.
Master bedroom has a jetted tub but only a small shower stall in the bathroom. Bathrooms are small with handheld shower heads that lack water pressure. Well water had a strong sulphuric smell that permeated the cabin and hit you when you entered.
Steep stairs lead to the loft where the second bedroom had two large beds with tons of floor space, open to the living area below. Small bathroom with sink in the sleeping area.
Noise travels through the cabin well with any movement in the loft easily heard in the master.
Laundry is down steep stairs to basement, tucked in a corner.
Not enough towels were available but we found a storage cabinet in the basement with more.
Hot tub on back porch nicely enclosed but only had one set of seat jets working. Was a bit dirty.
We would not stay here again though it might fit the needs of some.
Owner was quick to respond when asked questions.
I certainly apologize that you didn’t enjoy your stay, I wish you had contacted me during it about your issues. If the roads were “steep and narrow” for you I’m going to assume you followed your GPS (which brought you up Hidden Mountain RD) and didn’t follow the directions I sent you that bypasses all that and only adds .2 of a mile to trip. If you had followed my directions all the roads are two lane and not crazy curvy/steep at all. All 4 of my cabins are on the same road, and with 300+ 5 star reviews for them I can always tell the few people that skip the driving directions page. I can’t imagine what would have been subject to flash flooding anywhere around the cabin, except maybe the goose gap/new area road area, which again isn’t how I tell people to get to the cabin (though it is a shortcut to the other end of the parkway) As for water I apologize, all that crazy rain in December definitely changed the well water for a while, but if you had told me it smelled I would have had maintenance swing buy and turn up the chlorinator on the filtration system, it usually has no smell/or a very slight sulphur smell.
The house keeper puts out 8-10 sets of towels depending on the number of guests you listed when you booked. Not sure how many you actually had but your rental only says 4. And that “cabinet” was the housekeepers LOCKED cabinet with her cleaning supplies (she wasn’t happy about people getting into it and taking her supplies). I would have been happy to have sent you more towels had you messaged me, I was just around the corner at one of my cabins for the holidays.
