Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: Cury Cross Lanes is a tranquil countryside hamlet nestled between Mullion and Helston, on the western edge of the Lizard Peninsula. Surrounded by rolling farmland and part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village is known for its peaceful setting and proximity to dramatic coastal scenery. Dining options include The Wheel Inn, a traditional Cornish pub serving hearty meals and local ales, and Jumunjy Thai Restaurant & Bar, a vibrant spot offering authentic Thai cuisine in a uniquely styled setting. You can stock up on essentials at the nearby SPAR in Mullion, or choose from a wider selection of supermarkets in Helston, just a short drive away. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the nearby Predannack Downs, a wild expanse of heathland ideal for walking and wildlife spotting, and the scenic South West Coast Path, which offers breathtaking views from Kynance Cove to Church Cove. For a gentler stroll, the Loe Pool circular walk near Helston provides a serene route around Cornwall’s largest natural freshwater lake. Families can enjoy a day out at Poldhu Cove, a sheltered beach popular for paddling and picnics, or explore the interactive exhibits at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth, less than an hour away.
