About Lauri Teagan

Hi! We're the Teagans and we've owned this beautiful chalet since fall 2006. We bought the house when our kids were 2 and 3 and have tried to include everything a family could want. We have kept books, beach and indoor toys and dvd's from when our children were young and added to the collection as they have grown. We even included fun stuff for the adults as well.

Lauri Teagan purchased this chalet in 2006

Why Lauri Teagan chose Innsbrook

We fell in love with the house the first time we went out to visit Innsbrook and decided to jump right in and buy it. We feel this is a special place even for Innsbrook because its on the end of a penninsula surrounded by water on 3 sides and has a significant area of flat land where our children can play, something particularly special and unusual for Innsbrook. The first thing we did when we bought this property was to put in a private beach and campfire area. We have decided to provide every amenity our family could ever want and hopefully thought of everything for you as well.

What makes this chalet unique

Something we love about this place is the 2 story wall of windows in the Great Room. Whether you are inside or outside you are surrounded by breathtaking views and can't help but relax in picturesque nature. The Great Room also provides the perfect spot for the whole group to relax and celebrate their time together. Right off the Great Room is a deck the length of the house providing plenty of room to bar-b-que, enjoy outdoor dining and lying out and enjoying the scenery.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Perfect for the family - the kids love the beach and caught a lot of fish. It was great! The experience was perfectly relaxing. The first place we stayed in a long time we didn't have to put up with anything when we got there.

Perfect Lakeside Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We take a siblings trip every year and we loved this house so much that we returned for a second time. It has plenty of room for us to hang out by the fire or play games at the large kitchen table.

Family Time!

  • 5 of 5

We were in Innsbrook for a wedding. We were able to spend time as a family and enjoyed watching my grandson fish for the first time and ride in a paddle boat for the first time. Our house reminded us of years ago when we used to come to Innsbrook so we felt right at home with the beautiful view and peacefulness. We left saying, "We have to do this again!"

Perfect for our large family!

  • 5 of 5

We have eight children from ages two to thirteen. This house has games, fishing poles, multiple boats (kayaks, a canoe, a peddle boat, a paddle boat), life preservers, etc.

Just bring enough food and they've thought of everything else (including a kitchen with pots, pans, plates and flatware).

We are able to sleep all ten of us, and feed all ten of us both inside and on the deck (my favorite place for us to eat.)

We love this place and have come back several times!

Week of 9/10/17

  • 4 of 5

This was my first rental in this area. I tend to rent property during the week and after Labor Day or before Memorial Day. It was very, very quiet. I had no neighbors around until half way through my week. Even then, I only heard them a couple times when I was on the deck and saw them on the lake a few times. I'm not sure how many people were there, but I did see three cars.

The chalet was clean and well stocked with towels, dishes, utensils, etc. I was the only one on this trip, but there was plenty of room for a family, a couple small families and/or friends. Both the fire alarms and the front door lock are wired into the security system of Innsbrook.

I had a perfect view of the lake during the day and into the evenings. At night, when the clouds had passed through, I saw the most beautiful sky full of stars! As I was alone, I did not get in the water. However, there were plenty of water "toys" for adults...kayaks, pedal boat, rafts, and a canoe. I also saw a plastic pool for the kids.

I spent one afternoon checking out the amenities...stables, tennis courts, basketball court, fitness center, pools, etc. There were only a few people scattered in these places. I'm sure the time of day, as well as time of year, had something to do with the quiet. I chose to drive under the speed limit while driving after seeing deer in yards, in the woods and on the road.

My only complaint was not having a land line during my stay and my cell phone was spotty. However, the internet worked perfectly, which helped me keep in contact with my family. The phone company was working on the phone lines and it was an unusual issue. For most people, I don't think this would be a problem.

Lauri was helpful before and during my stay. She is very easy to work with. Even though she is out of the area, she has a woman named Sandy you can get in contact with if you need help with something. Also, a security guard named, Bill, checked in on me and later stopped his car on the road as we passed to ask how I was enjoying my stay. All very friendly people.

I hesitated writing this review because I really want to keep this my secret hide away. ;)

Perfect House on quiet lake

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd visit to this wonderful home. The house is very clean and the beds are comfortable. The towels are fluffy and abundant. This year we hung out by the sandy beach which is nice and sunny all day. There are 2 kayaks and a paddleboard which we used to go all around the lake. The view of the lake from the deck is stunning, really gives you a peaceful feeling. We were able to use the fire pit at night and there is firewood provided. The kitchen is well stocked with stemware, cutting boards, bowls, blender, there were even ziploc bags that were very handy. We met some of the neighbors this year and they were wonderful. Lauri, the owner, is very easy to deal with and very responsive. Can't wait to go back!!!

Relaxing and Fabulous !

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely wonderful , front to back. We chose this cabin for the special and memorable experience of a family get-together during the 2017 Eclipse. I would change absolutely *nothing*. It was like being in your best-friend's cabin that already had everything one might want in the house. We enjoyed the lake, the canoe, the gorgeous balcony (with not one, but two, large tables' worth of room , and a third off to the side of the large wraparound porch, if needed). The fridge, microwave, and kitchen pantry offered plenty of room to let us "do our thing" when we wanted to stay in, visit and play games. When we wanted to go out, and easy driving distance to the city of we wanted to do something there. (I would STONGLY recommend YaYa's Euro Bistro in St Louis for a great meal!). There were a massive amount of towels, games, etc. . . just everything we could think of was there. Wifi was great (there was a gift of an Echo during the trip ,m, and we hooked it up and "played with it" , no problem).

Also - I run/walk in the mornings, and the surrounding area was very nice and peaceful for that.

All three couples in my group had a nice room, and were thrilled with the visit.

I can't say enough about the beauty of the cabin itself. It's bones were lovely, and the decor was nice, but friendly-casual enough not to be intimidating, or feel stuffy. (And I much appreciated the that the decor didn't include of the mounted animal-part theme so common in similar cabins I've researched or seen).

All in all , we visited with our family, played games, ate popcorn , hung out, and enjoyed the wonderful relaxing environment we had hoped for. It was perfect.

My sincere thanks to our hosts.

Sybil and family.
