About this property
1 Bed in West Runton (oc-1718)
West Runton is a delightful seaside village just over 1.5 miles from the beach. Positioned on the village's edge, the cottage enjoys an elevated setting at Norfolk's highest point, right on the dramatic Cromer cliffs. One of three pretty, thatched, single-storey cottages, this studio-style cottage creates a bijoux and delightful base for two. Everything for a comfortable holiday has been put in place from the neat kitchen area to the cosy bedroom with en-suite shower room. The outside courtyard is a sunny spot to relax in for breakfast or a place for an evening drink. Surrounded by National Trust woods and heathland and just a mile and a half from the sea, this is a lovely spot from which to explore this glorious part of Norfolk.
The compact open-plan sitting/dining/kitchen area has comfortable seating, a TV, a dining table and chairs for two guests. It’s perfect for when one of you is cooking but doesn’t want to miss out on the conversation. The kitchen has everything needed for whipping up a romantic meal. Move through this single-storey property and find the bedroom with its double bed and wooden floor. The en-suite shower room with its shower cubicle and WC can also be found here. To the front of the property, there is a small suntrap terrace with a table and chairs. This is a lovely spot for a little al fresco dinner as the sun goes down.
West Runton is an appealing seaside village nestled in the North Norfolk coastal landscape. It offers a family-friendly beach with crabbing and fossil hunting and there is a pub, a grocer, a station, two cafes, a gym and a golf course all to be found within half a mile of the cottage's front door. To the east, discover the resort of Cromer (3 miles) with its famous pier and cliff-top walks and further along this stretch of the coast are numerous flat, sandy beaches that are often not overpopulated even in the summer. Head west and discover the open marshes at Stiffkey and Cley-next-the-Sea and seaside villages such as Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea (all within 20 miles), each with their own unique character. With great pubs, delis, smokehouses, farm shops and cafes, there are plenty of places that showcase the produce that Norfolk is justifiably famous for such as crabs, mussels, cheeses, wines and more. The area is rich in history too with Felbrigg Hall (2.5 miles) and Blickling Hall (11 miles) both run by the National Trust, and Holkham Hall (22 miles), the seat of the Earl of Leicester, all nearby.
