Located on the edge of the beautiful Norfolk Fens in the village of Welney, this pet-friendly cottage offers the perfect holiday retreat for a couple or a small family. Wonderful views and a lovely garden make this a very special place for a relaxing holiday.
Steps lead from the parking lot to the front door, where you’ll enter a cosy open-plan lounge/diner. Settle down on the plump sofa and warm your feet in front of the roaring open fire. After a day of roaming the open countryside, catch up with your favourite shows on the TV/DVD player. To the rear, there’s a dining table set for four guests and a separate well-equipped kitchen. The property benefits from a downstairs family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Upstairs, you’ll find two delightful bedrooms comprised of a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a twin bedroom. The master bedroom has a zip-and-link which can be made into a twin bedroom on request, while the twin bedroom has two zip-and-link beds that can be made into a super-king-size on request. Enjoy sunny afternoons in the front enclosed lawn. In addition to the garden there is a communal green opposite the rear of the cottage with a picnic bench.
The village is surrounded by the Welney Wetlands. Go birdwatching at the WWT Welney Wetland Centre, just 2 miles away. Go angling in the fishing lakes at the Pisces Country Park which hosts pike fishing. Travel to the city of Ely in Cambridgeshire, 10 miles away, renowned as the former home of Oliver Cromwell. Visit the impressive Ely Cathedral followed by dinner at one of the city’s many reputable restaurants. Let the kids burn off excess energy at Go Ape, 22 miles away in Thetford Forest.
