1 Caerau Isaf is a charming and secluded traditional stone cottage, one of a pair, which is found at the end of a shared narrow lane. It is hidden away in a truly magical spot with lovely gardens, offering many places to sit and to eat, with far reaching views over the coastline to Strumble Head and out to sea. From the cottage, the same lane, now just a footpath, lets you stroll down in 15 minutes to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path at Aberfelin Bay, with its picturesque shingle beach, rock pools, and dramatic cliffs.Step into this quaint home, with beams and exposed thick stone walls, through the tiled porch which is ideal for all that walking gear, to the comfortable dining room. The cosy sitting room with multi-fuel stove, makes a cosy retreat on chillier days; beyond that is the sun-room/snug, with double sofa bed, which is a wonderful spot to relax and soak up the super views. From the well-equipped kitchen, off the dining room, step out to a sheltered patio to the rear, which is an ideal sunny spot for breakfast. A hallway leads to the bathroom and a separate shower room, as well as 2 welcoming bedrooms with sea views over the garden. Narrow stairs take you to a further space nestling in the eaves, a quiet haven for those who have to study or work.Outside, in the large garden busy with birdlife, there are mature trees, flowering shrubs and a secret path! This is an absolute delight with a number of spots to sit, including a bench to the front for morning coffee. Uneven steps lead to a barbecue area; but the best spot has to be the raised bench to the left of the garden, with an uninterrupted sea and coastal view over fields that is simply stunning.A much-loved family property, it is perfectly positioned to explore this wonderful area on foot; many people return here year after year. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to really appreciate the coastline and all its rugged beauty. The village of Trefin with its pub, The Ship Inn, above Aberfelin Beach, are within a 30 minutes’ walk. Or walk via the Coastal Path to the haunting Porthgain in 45 minutes, with its boats and slate mine ruins, and re-fuel at the popular Sloop Inn, or The Shed Fish Restaurant, and then on to the lovely secluded Traeth Llyfn beach, which is accessible only by steps, but well worth the effort. Or head to Abereiddy with its grey sand and shingle beach and famous Blue Lagoon. Further afield, Whitesands Bay is stunning, perfect for families, and also a firm favourite for surfing enthusiasts, both beginners and professionals alike, and a beachside café. To the north lies the quaint fishing village of Abercastle, still used by local fishermen, and the famous Tregwynt Woollen Mill. The tiny City of St Davids is well worth a visit with its majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace, as well as excellent range of facilities. Take a boat trip from St Justinian’s to Ramsey Island, perfect for keen bird and wildlife enthusiasts, see and listen to the mournful cries of the seal pups in September.
