Well located with a short walk to the old town. Close to the airport. Communication with the owner was great and quick. Check in and check out was also easy. The rental unit has potential with some fixes. The couch that served as a bed was extremely dirty and extremely uncomfortable and should not be listed as an option for sleeping. The appartment is on the street level in a neighborhood that we did not feel safe opening the windows to take advantage of the AC unit. The shower head should be cleaned or changed as it sprays everywhere leaking water on the bathroom floor. Space outside to hang laundry when we had to hand wash a few things. Lisbon is a great city.

We stayed in the ground floor flat, which we should note upfront; the listing mixes photos from multiple apartments, so don’t expect what you see in all the pictures to match what you get. That said, the layout worked well for us and the location is genuinely lovely, set in a traditional residential neighbourhood with great character and historic sites within walking distance.Our main issue was the cleaning. The bins in the toilet were full on arrival, there was hair left on the shower dispenser, and the couch was visibly dirty and in need of a proper clean. For the price, we expected better on that front. A thorough clean before each guest would go a long way.A few other things worth mentioning: the walls are quite thin, the doors creak and could do with some oil, and a small welcome touch like olive oil, vinegar or basic condiments in the kitchen would be a kind gesture for arriving guests.The area itself is a highlight: full of charm and history. Do be aware that the surrounding streets involve some uphill walking, which could be challenging for less mobile guests, though taxis and Uber are readily available.Overall, the bones are good and the location is a real asset. Fix the cleaning standards, sort the minor maintenance, and address the misleading listing photos and this place has genuine potential.
