With nearly seven miles of golden sand, three major beaches, the National Surf Centre, and a seemingly unending supply of rolling surf, Newquay is a delight for beachgoers and watersports enthusiasts. The town's zoo, marine centre, and plenty of restaurants and bars all contribute to the promise of a holiday to remember. The South West Coast Path, popular among hikers, stretches in both directions along a breathtaking stretch of coastline that features steep cliffs, secluded coves, and even more beaches. Padstow, with its picturesque harbour and fishing village, is only 16 miles distant. Similarly close by are Truro's museums, church, restaurants, and cobblestone streets, as well as the Eden Project. Picturesque St Ives and the Tate St Ives gallery is just a train ride away. To the contrary, Newquay is an excellent home base for exploring the rest of Cornwall because of how close everything is to the city.
