Just along the coast is the equally attractive village of Anstruther which is home to not only the Scottish Fisheries Museum giving a fascinating insight into the fishing industry in Scotland but also the renowned and award winning fish and chip bar. A short drive away is St Andrews, the home of golf and also Falkland village, with its spectacular palace. Slightly further afield is Tentsmuir Forest National Nature Reserve which consists of some 50 square miles of dunes, heath, lochs, forest and a large variety of wildlife. With Edinburgh only 40 miles away and easily reachable train or car, St Monans truly has something for everyone.
