Under the roof of this historic house, you will find a bright room with sweeping views of the Elbe landscape. Wooden beams, clay plaster, and large skylights create a wonderful atmosphere – plus access to the sauna in the old vault. Start the day on the green balcony and end it in the freestanding bathtub under the sloping roof.
The kitchen, dining table, and sofa are located under the converted roof truss. A wood-burning stove provides warmth on cooler days. The glass door leads to the balcony with a view of the church and courtyard. Four smaller rooms are grouped to the side: three bedrooms and a study with a fold-out daybed. There are two bathrooms – one made of wood with a shower, the other with a freestanding bathtub.
The green balcony offers space for breakfast with a view. In the cupboard under the stairs, you will find a small shop with local products – apple juice from Mühlenberg, honey, pasta. If you like, you can order an organic box from Grünland in Salzwedel. The shared bookshelf invites you to browse. The communal sauna in the vaulted cellar of the house can be used daily from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. without reservation. Other time slots can be arranged individually.
The Elbe is right on your doorstep: rent a canoe from Elbe-Kanu, cycle along the Elbe Cycle Route, or relax on the Elbe beach. Café Lämpel serves homemade cakes, and the Salt Church hosts concerts and exhibitions. In the evening, it's worth taking a walk to the dike – just be there and enjoy the light.
