Everything you've read about the PERFECT LOCATION is true! It's right on the boardwalk and beach - within walking distance to all kinds of restaurants, bike rentals, amusement park, etc. We only drove to the grocery store and zoo, which were both close. Our condo (I) had a movable glass wall in the bedroom, which was absolutely wonderful, because you could just lie in bed or get ready while listening to the waves and watching people go by on the boardwalk and beach. The only downsides to that were that 2 other condos have access to that area and there are no chairs out there, but those are minor complaints. We didn't use the second bedroom for anything except storage for our suitcases, but it was great to have 2 full bathrooms (plus, the walk-in closet in the master was a nice bonus). The condo itself could use some cosmetic updates like paint, caulk, magnetic doorstops and has about 9,000 light switches (but they were all clearly labeled), but it was still very nice. The light is great throughout and all you need to do is open the glass front door for a gorgeous sunset view. Bring your FireTV stick or whatever device if you want TV at night, because there's only DirectTV and it's a nightmare, but you should be outside...on the beach...right outside the door! BE SURE to measure your car as they tell you to do - it's TIGHT and the spot for condo I is trickier, because there's a telephone pole in the way. If you go around the corner and drive STRAIGHT into the spot instead of turning into it, you'll be fine. We would definitely recommend this place and really wish we'd stayed longer - what a GREAT trip!
This condo is in a great location on Mission Beach. Even though it is set back and not at the front of the Surfrider complex, it offered great views of the ocean from the living room, dining room and master bedroom, and was very spacious and well laid out. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils, and the washer and dryer were a great bonus. In one review, they said there no beach towels or chairs. No beach chairs are correct, but beach towels are now provided. The AC was a nice addition too even though it did not cool the second bedroom very well, and there are no windows in the second bedroom. There are shades & blinds on all windows which operate by a remote which was super nice. The boardwalk is right out the front and we enjoyed walking to nearby restaurants. One parking space is provided which is a bonus as there is no public parking nearby. However, it is a very small space and only small cars or small suvs can easily fit. Be aware there is an extra utility pole to the left of the parking space that we had to maneuver around, and there is no elevator to carry luggage up to the second floor. Finally, the pictures are very accurate and we would definitely rent the condo again.
The location of this condo is perfect. Everything in the space is high end. The view is spectacular. The sliding glass doors in the master suite were wonderful. There is nothing better than listening to the waves. Having the washer and dryer were great to launder a few items. The spa was hot and clean. There are so many great food options along the strip, however having a full kitchen and BBQ were appreciated for a few meals.
We would recommend this condo to anyone staying in the area.
We have been coming to various units in the Surfrider for years. The location and amenities are perfect for us. SeaWorld is less than 5 minutes away and the rest of San Diego's attractions are a short drive away. Most importantly, you can surf, boogie board, and just plain enjoy the beach right out the door. Surf until your lips turn blue, rinse off in the outdoor shower, and hit the hot tub to warm up. The beds are comfortable and the units are nicely appointed. Service from the unit owners is prompt and helpful. We had a great stay and hope you do also.
2nd time here love it! Hopefully a yealy tradition.
Fine for one couple. Great kitchen, cross breeze and functioning wall/retrofit air conditioning. It wasn't hot but the AC provides great noise cancel at night. No sound of MB parties or alley cruisers. The second bedroom has no window. Used best as a closet. The Surfrider units are overall due for updating, exterior paint etc and as mentioned these master baths are all odd. No mirror above the sink. Tub is IN the M. Bdrm. This one does have a good master closet. And this unit could use a screen door to minimize the flies. Management was responsive and very efficient from booking to check out. The unit was clean, a Grrrreat location and other vacationers were very friendly.
